As strange as this may sound, last night I finally realized who George Carlin was, and that I was wrong when I said that I'd never heard any of his work.

I was watching Cars, the Disney/Pixar film from 2006, and it was some scene with Fillmore, a 1960's VW bus. I was sitting at the kithcen table, watching some scene play out, and when Fillmore said whatever his next line was, I suddenly had the follwoing string of thoughts: Oh, that's George Carlin, dher. Oh yeah, he passed away recently. <replaced by some other random thought>

Now that I'm finally, if belatedly, informed... RIP Mr. Carlin. You will be missed, and thanks for the laughs. (Even if mine came from a VW Bus in CGI cartoon.)
