I think one of the reasons I'm so sad over his death and why I'm still having a hard time coming to grips with it is because, I knew him. I mean I didn't know him personally but I knew him, I saw enough of him to know the man inside and out or at least enough to establish a real sense of honest to goodness connection.

It's not like Heath Ledger's death, that was more of a huge shock because he was so young and already amping up to have a fantastic career. I've watched enough of George Carlin to love the guy more beyond then the mere title of "my favorite comedian". To this day I am still having a hard time believing he is dead simply because of my love of the man.

I look at his old clips and specials now and its like, he's still supposed to be here, he's still off some where being his funny old self. But now he's not there anymore and I hate the fact I have to come to terms with that.
