Basically there's been a whole lot of volcanic activity in one area for several months and it's had a devastating effect on one small town that probably shouldn't have been built there. I don't know anyone who was affected, but the town had to be evacuated and there's been one casualty (someone doing repair work in the aftermath, as far as I can tell). Doesn't look like the inhabitants will be able to return to their homes any time soon, if at all.
