Give it time, dA will eventually be indistinguishable from Facebook. Did I mention that the site is run by UTTER MORONS who don't listen to their members? 
On a more positive note, much as the Sims game has modders who create things to make the game work right, so too there are people who have created downloads that reverse the crap that dA's admins think is such a good idea. More power to them.
