I prefer to salvage or repair if possible. Cheaper in the long run. This will not, however, be the fate of the two mice I am using. One likes to go to the corner of the screen sometimes and needs to be whacked to get it to function properly again. The other has an annoying tendency to scroll down a few line when I click, thereby making me click on something else. Both are fated to be sledgehammered in the parking lot and left there. The new mice will be shown the remains of the old ones so they will know what will happen to then if they act up.
