There was a series of Bloom County strips that ran for a week or two where Steve Dallas booked Bill on David Letterman's show. They thought they were going to talk about Bill's movie career but naturally they ended up as part of the "Stupid Pet Tricks" segment. "You wanna see a trick?" says the annoyed Steve, "Bill, go cough up a hairball on Paul Schaffer." "Whoops, time for a commercial!" says Dave. Genius work.
