That kid was a trip. He was the youngest kid on campus (12 years old at the time) and as scrappy as they come, happy to wrestle with anyone. He fit in pretty well, better than some of the older guys did. Very high tolerance for pain, too... except for the time my friend Tom whipped an apple at him. We watched as the apple soared gracefully through the ait, arcing up, then down, and finally slamming into Dave's nether regions. The shot of a lifetime. Dave made a high-pitched noise like nothing I've ever heard from a human being before or since, and crumpled to the ground, wimpering and moaning. Tom turned to me and said, "It's all in the wrist."
