Oh yes, the Twilight Bark. That was a stroke of genius. I did the read the book as kid, though I've got to say that I generally preferred the 1961 Disney adaptation. As I recall, there was quite a nice scene in the book that never made it to the movie in which an elderly man discusses some dalmatians from his past with his own dog (a spaniel, I believe), but I remember being slightly bugged by just how dumb and useless all the female characters basically were in the source. The benevolent females anyway - the story did, after all, spawn one of the most memorable female villains of all time, though that might have more to do with Disney's portrayal of her. I forget how she comes across in the book - it's been a while since I've read it.
