They do laugh, them and the Mare's Tail Equisetum which preceeded the dinosaurs and can't be killed by anything. As for the Morning Glory, they're actually very closely related to the Sweet Potato. I grow the South American Blue and Purple flowered ones but the winters are too cold so you have to grow them fresh every year.
