What's everyone's favorite movie franchises?
Mine are: 1. Star Wars- Though AOTC was crappy. III-VI are some of the greatest movies ever. 2. Indiana Jones- This one of the few franchises that (most people think) doesn't have one bad film. If IV is good enough (which I bet it will) it may just be my favorite. 3. Spider-Man- I don't care what everyone else says I loved 3. Though not as good as 2, I personally like it much more than 1. 4. Die Hard- Like Indy this another franchise with none of the movie's being disappointing. But 2 isn't as good as the other three. 5. Terminator- I don't see all the hate for 3. Though it's not as great as 1 or 2 it was pretty good. The rest of the top 10: 6. Back to the Future 7. Harry Potter 8. Batman 9. Bourne 10. Predator (Yes no Alien, but only because of 3 & 4) |

Mostly horror movies for me when it comes to the franchises. Evil Dead, Re-Animator, all the Ring movies and series from all over the world. I love the Blues Brothers movies, and although they're made for TV, the Alien Nation movies. I used to love the Mummy and its sequel (not the third one though) until I realised how bad the sequel is. Still like the first one but that's all. I guess I like the Aladdin movies, not to mention the series which I feel is essential once you get past the first movie. I'm not wild about any of the "big" franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings (though I at least like those), or Harry Potter.
Annnd our power's surging so I have to end this post now, lol.

Lord of the Rings- Gotta be my favorite of all time. The mythology, the spirituality, the love story, the drama, the costumes, even the history (what little was "authentic"). I just love them Hobbits and the Elves are my idols.
![]() Star Wars- Must admit the first three from the '70s and '80s are best, and Phantom was the worst, but the last two were great. I've always been a Star Wars fan Lethal Weapon- This may come as a surprise to some, but I loved these movies. I remember watching a marathon of them one day with my best friend when we had nothing whatsoever going on for a few days. One of the best days of my life. Very entertaining. Back to the Future- Whenever I see them now, I'm blasted back to the '80s, the blast back in itself is fun. But I always enjoyed the movies, they were very original, and it was always fun to see "past Marty", "present Marty", and "future Marty" all at the same time, and try to understand how he got to where he was at the time. Very original too, I applaud who thought of the idea. Anne of Green Gables- Here's one that might cancel out the Lethal Weapon movies, lol. I've loved these since I was a kid, and have also loved the books. The history and the costumes are to die for. One of the best Edwardian historical films that stays true to history and fashion. They didn't stay so true to the books, though, which was irritating at times. Toy Story- Is this a franchise? I'm guessing it is. Possibly my favorite Pixar movies so far. Funny, original, and well, it's Pixar! What more can be said? Shanghai- Funny as anything! Jackie Chan rocks out loud! And he pairs perfectly with Owen Wilson. Those two make one funny pair. Rush Hour- Again, Jackie Chan, funniness forever! Pair him with Chris Tucker, and there's another funny pair. And honorable mention- Pirates, although I only really liked the first movie, Matrix, ditto. And Indiana Jones, although it's been soooo long since I've seen the movies, I don't remember much (seriously, I was a kid between 7 and 10 years old), but I do remember it being exciting.

I ADORE the Back to the Future movies, even if the first film is the only one which I regard as being totally, 100% perfect. I can watch Parts II and III and thoroughly enjoy them, but I do think that both have their shortcomings in some ways (though III was certainly an improvement over II, in my opinion). All in all, it easily ranks as my favourite movie trilogy of all time, particularly given that I never really got into Star Wars or Indiana Jones (and I'm sorry to report that watching the Godfather trilogy pretty much became an exercise in watching it for watching its sake...not really my sort of film, I'm afraid). BTTF is fun, entertaining, loaded with likeable characters (Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox were a fabulous team), and has absolutely everything you could want from a movie - action, sci-fi, romance, period pieces, bits that are laugh-out-loud funny and other bits that make you want to cry...the special effects haven't dated none too badly either. And, as an additional plus point, the original BTTF film came out in the very year that I was born. That in itself may not be a strong enough reason to place it above the competition, but it gives it extra special significance for me. It's a movie I can grow old with.
Other ones which I've enjoyed include Lord of the Rings (fabulously made), Spider-Man and Pirates of the Carribean (to be honest, I think that all three PotC flicks were really very silly, the final instalment managing to be both hugely silly and hugely convoluted at the same time, but when taken as the light-hearted popcorn entertainment they're clearly intended to be, they're a lot of fun), though none of them have scratched out quite the same place in my heart as the BTTF movies. As much as I love Harry Potter in its original written form, I have to admit that I'm not wild about their adaptations. Some of the adult casting has been pretty good (particularly Alan Rickman as Severus Snape, who's done a really commendable job), but none of the production team thus far have managed to transcribe the story elements in a particularly satisfactory way, and Daniel Radcliffe was a seriously limp choice to play the titular character, seemingly chosen more for his looks than for his acting abilities. As for the Matrix, well, that's another one I never really got into. As most folks who know me really well should know, I have this crippling phobia of that ugly little aspect of the human anatomy known as the belly button, or navel. Not to sound paranoid, but there was a particular scene inserted into the Matrix clearly designed to traumatise me personally. That robotic scorpion, or whatever it was, and Keanu Reeves...ugh, I think I need to go lie down for a while. ![]()

Lord of the Rings-All three movies (especially Return of the King) are simply epic. What more can I say?
Star Wars-Out of the six movies that I have seen, my favorite would have to be Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi. Batman-Before Batman Begins, I use to admire Batman and Batman Returns. The first two films are great, but Batman Begins is my preferred film, primarily because it actually sticks to the original source. Back to the Future-If there's anything this franchise has, it is humor, great characters (including Doc and Marty) and time-traveling fun. 'Nuff said. Pirates of the Caribbean-With great swash-buckling action and ships galore (as well as Jack Sparrow), this Disney franchise is so far the only one that I like.

Lord of the Rings - In my opinion, the finest movie series ever made. Few others even come close. There's virtually nothing that I didn't like about these films.
Indiana Jones - The Last Crusade was my favorite of the Indy movies thus far but I've enjoyed them all quite a bit. Here's hoping that the next one is as good as it's predecessors. Back to the Future - Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd were brilliant. I don't think any other two actors could have given this series as much charm as these two did. Scooby-Doo - The animated movies, not the live-action versions (which I also enjoyed). Some of them have been more than a little stupid, but I've been a fan of the series for far too long not to enjoy them. For me they're like visiting with old friends. Jurassic Park - The 10-minute scene with the T-Rex in the first movie was one of the most spellbinding pieces of cinema I've ever watched. Absolutely riveting. Godzilla - Oh, go on and admit it, you love them, too. So what if they're not masterpieces? Still the greatest movie monster ever. Star Trek - Because it's Star Trek. 'Nuff said. Oh, and Captain Kirk is my hero. That about covers it. ![]() |

!Godzilla: As listed above, I've loved Godzilla for a long time. His movies have such amazing monsters and battles, very vivid imaginations and above all: very fun to watch and enjoy without worrying about the movie being too confused or sophisticated. Its a fun movie series through and through. Batman: Quite possibly the greatest super hero movie series ever, both animated and LIVE. With the exception of "Batman and Robin", all of Batman's movies have impressed me and always wowed me with their excellent action scenes, colorful villains, and beautiful directing. Begins is amazing too, but the first and 2nd Batman movies are masterpieces if you ask me, no hands down. Star Wars: Say what you will about the first 3 movies, Star Wars is a classic franchise that will always be the strongest in movie history. Phantom was pretty bad but I LOVED Revenge of the Sith, LOVED it and of course 4, 5, and 6 are fantastic. Such memorable iconic characters and quotes. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: With the except of the lame 3rd movie, the Turtles movies has been one of the few franchises that has been able to make consistent well made movies in its lifetime. The first one is an incredible movie, I thought the second one was even better and I was REALLY impressed with TMNT. I really hope they make a sequel, Turtles is a great series and I've always felt their movies to be fun, imaginative, and classic. Pirates of the Caribbean: I honestly didn't have a problem with the 3rd at all, it got a little misleading with all the constant betrayals and what not but still, I find it hard for people not to love this series with the incredible music, scenery, excellent cast of unique characters, and magnificent storytelling by Gore Verbinski. He turned a Disney theme park ride into a whole new universe like Star Wars or Lord of the rings and I think its a fantastic series.

Lord of the Rings- Aragorn really knows how to act like a man. 'nuff said.
Rambo- Stallone may be lame, but these movies rule. Especially the last one ![]() Die Hard- Bruce is a great actor, and "Live Free or Die Hard" was AMAZING.

Star Wars: I absolutely love this franchise. I enjoyed the prequels but I will always have an undying love of the originals. Darth Vader is one of the most enduring movie icons of all time.
Lord of the Rings: Simply fantastic. In my opinion, this is the greatest fantasy series ever created. I just can't wait for the Hobbit to get made. Godzilla: Always a fun way to spend a Saturday or Sunday night with friends. While most of the movies are corny brawls by guys in rubber suites, (fun as heck to watch!) the original movie is a very touching and genuinely frightening movie, metaphor or not. There are several others but I just can't remember them right now. I'll try and come back when I remember.
