I think the grossness of leafy green vegetables transcends gender.

What? What's wrong with vegetables? The crispness of a fresh stick of celery, the glorious, pungent aroma of diced onion, the wholesome crunchiness of a carrot, the subtle flavor of an artichoke, the refreshing lightness of a tossed salad with herbs... Oh, who am I kidding, I WANT A STEAK!!!

When I was in art school, all the girls in my class were either vegan or vegetarians. I was the only person who ate meat and it was so awkward! I tried to be a good sport, but there were times when I wanted to scream "give me a ham sandwich for God's Sake!"

Hah I'm not a vegetarian or a vegan, either. I enjoy meat and also, I think (no offense to vegetarians or vegans) that humans were MADE to be carnivores/omnivores. Look at our eyes. I know it's a primitive way, but it's a relatively good rule of thumb. Most vegetarian animals (deer, cows, antelope, etc.) have eyes on the sides of their heads to aid in their peripheral vision and help them see predators. Most carnivore/omnivore animals (cats, dogs, humans) have eyes directly in front to aid in depth perception and to help them judge the distance and attack prey more easily.

Another relatively good way of telling is our teeth. Humans have canines for tearing food. Most herbivores have almost all molars for grinding up plant tissue.

While I know we don't have to attack prey with our bare hands or anything, it doesn't stop nature from putting our eyes in front and giving us sharp teeth.

(But hey... if a human chooses to become a vegetarian, that's fine by me. I really respect them for making a decision like that in such a meat-filled world! It's got to be difficult.)

It's also true that Vitamin B12 is not found in plants, only in animal tissue. The body can store enough to last for a year or more, but without it, you will die, plain and simple. Today we can make synthetic B12 from non-meat sources, but our ancestors didn't have that option. In those days, a Vegan diet was nothing more than suicide. So yeah, mankind is in fact meant to eat meat, whether PETA likes it or not.

YODA!

... right. Moving on.

Mankind is losing those primitive instincts. We used to NEED the appendix for SOMETHING. We used to NEED our wisdom teeth for SOMETHING. Now, they're just annoying little body parts that we take out because they have the potential to kill us. Oh, and tonsils.

I love meat. I feel bad for all the chickens and pigs, (not cows; they're stupid animals. Seriously. Like, peanut-brain.) but survival of the fittest, right?

If they were meant to survive, they would not be on my plate. Pass the gravy.
