I liked this eppie from the start for a number of reasons.
1- I like roller coasters. 2- I like fabric stores. 3- I remember when I was little and
didn't like fabric stores, and would be bored out of my mind while my mother browsed for what seemed like hours. And 4- It focused on Madame F. more than most of the previous episodes did.
Yes, I LOVE roller coasters. Although I'm not the type who likes to ride the same one over and over and over and over..... I'd rather mix them up a bit. If I like one a whole lot, I'll ride it again, but only
after I ride another one or two. I tend to get sick less often that way.
Yes, I also like fabric stores. Ok, maybe not as much as roller coasters, but I like to humor my creative side every now and then. And sometimes just browsing and daydreaming is sufficient.
Oh yes, I remember when I was little, before I had any interest in sewing, I'd be stuck at a fabric store for "ever". I'd entertain myself usually looking at the pattern books and daydreaming of wearing some of the terrific clothes (and costumes) in there. But I actually didn't mind when my mother brought my brother and I to the Daisy Kingdom in downtown Portland. It was in a great old drafty Victorian building, it reminded me of my grandparents home. And they had a nice play area, very similar to the one in the episode. I don't remember the exact toys they had there, but I do remember all the ones Bloo played with in the eppie, I'm sure at least one of them was among the toys in that play room. *sigh* That was a fun flash back. Ah, but to be a child again...
And yes, we've seen a bit of the Madame in episodes since then, but when "SiiS" first aired it was refreshing to see more of Madame. F. It was also interesting to see more interaction between her and Bloo's characters, since we hadn't really seen that before. It did show a bit of her self centered nature, though, but not in the extreme. She simply was your typical creative/artistic lady in a fabric store, being side swiped by one distraction after an other. I now understand the thrill of creating something with your own hands, and buying supplies with which you will day dream about and how exactly you'll put them together to create this perfect..."thing". And it's your creation! You're "baby" of sorts! I didn't understand that so much when I was Bloo's age, but now days, yeah, I do.
And one more thing I love about this episode, which I know I've already mentioned a time or two. Bloo's excitement about going to the fair. Man, even I can't do that voice in such excitement without giving myself a headache. Kudos to Keith for doing such a great job at that.
