Ok so I'm loging in to FBFAHP. an the clock lads and gose to 100% 1 second left and then it GOSE BACK WARDS to 94% and it freazes!! :'( :cry: Now ill never be able to log in! I've tryed to log in over and over. I've re-freshed and I have even logged off my internet and waited for a few seconds and logged back on!! IT'S TOTAL HORROR!!

I haven't been able to log into the game for *months* because it always times out on me. I was just trying again, and I had to ctrl+at+delete and End Program on my browser to escape.

For what its worth, I just played, and I used IE. When I was using Firefox I couldn't get it to load worth beans.

I didn't do nuthin'! All I did was use IE instead of Firefox and I got in. I didn't change anything, I didn't clear any caches or cookies or cast any spells. I just used IE, and it worked. :P

Yeah I caught it on IE right before it went back to the shockwave movie error. At least my daughter got to see her guy going around the Mall. :bloogrin:
At least it's a sign that they are fixing it. I tried it on 2 other accounts and it didn't work on either. But hopefully they will fix in completely. :bloosmirk:

but in Internet explorer it tells me that there was a proplem communacating with the server, while on my AOL it just gose backwards. I even tryed on the public library's computer!
o.o this may sound really stupid but...erm...uh....How exactly do i do that? o.o I've never done that before...

If it was really a problem communicating with the server, then the issue is on their end, I'd say.

Well, this may be some unsettling news. :sad: I tried logging in again tonight (after the day's reset). I haven't been able to log in since the June update. I was all caught up with the last of the adventures in May, so I hadn't logged in once my bars were filled up.
Anyway, I tried logging in earlier, after Sparky said she got it to work and I got in on my daughter's account, and it gave me the same shockwave error on my account as I'd been getting. So just now, after the daily reset, I tried again and got the same error. I figured I'd try her account and sure enough, I was able to get in again, like this afternoon. I tried my account again and got the shockwave error. So I immediately tried her account again, and yep, I was able to log in.
This now leads me to believe that these shockwave errors are tied to certain accounts. Don't you think? I seriously hope it's not because I've been playing this game faithfully since the beginning (except a couple months last summer) and have everything that's current - minus the June items.
Unfortunately, I have no suggestions or solutions, I'm just stating my experiences so we can maybe find patterns and make sense of all of this. Hopefully, just maybe, the Fosters folks (I know they aren't directly related to the game, but I know they read the forum) will see this and get on CN's behind so it gets fixed.

P.S. For kicks I tried my other 2 daughters' accounts - one who hasn't logged in for months (got in), and one who has a couple times within the last month (got the error). So who knows. :'(

I just logged in (with IE again) on my second account and got in okay so that account isn't affected, if it is indeed certain accounts. I've been playing with my Blinky account since the very beginning, though I'm hardly caught up, and I registered the Baskin account several months back and did nothing with it other than to make him an ice cream cone. ;) And both those accounts are fine (though again, with Firefox, it wasn't a Shockwave error that was keeping me out, it was the thing simply timing out after trying forever to load). Anyways, I've received emails from people who are new to the game who are getting the error, so it's not "only" older players, in any case.
(Some people email me asking if I've heard any news on why the game doesn't work, and some ask me to FIX the game. Lol. Yesterday I got one from a person who wanted me to make the mall bigger. 8D People are funny.)

Oh.... you gotta love it. The things people think. Well, it is annoying beyond belief, but it is comical.
Yeah, most our accounts were made all around the same time. We're all long-time users, they're just not very regular. I don't see any pattern, like it being old accounts, or newer ones. Heck, my daughter was on hers that morning, before the update was released, trying to get one more adventure in before the update. 8D
And it's the same on both of our computers. The accounts that work, or don't work, either do or don't the same on both the PC and laptop, regardless of browser. So I don't know. I'd be interested to hear if someone, who previously got the shockwave error, now isn't getting it. I just hope that I can get my account back. :P "I'm" the one that has been faithful and devoted most of the time to it, and even helped them on theirs. I might just have to hijack one of their accounts and switch their IF to mine. 8D Yeah, unfortunately that wouldn't make it past any of my kids. :P

tried again this morning and got the same shockwave error message.
i figured since the error message said to contact the author of the movie, why not email cn.
i used the contact button at the bottom of the page and sent them an email about all the problems we are having and all the ways we've tried to fix it.
if anyone has some extra time today, try dropping an email over to cn under the contact button/games subject. maybe if we all let them know about it they look into it a little quicker.
now i'm going to go try my son's and daughter's accounts. i don't think they're banning us old folks but gosh that sure would be funny

Yes, it has been increasingly frustrating, and is not helping CN's reputation. I thought Orbit was a fluke and how that totally went to, well, you know, real fast in the last few years it lasted. But I was hoping BFAHP would be much better. We were so close to the "end" why did they have to extend it. :P
Anyway, I've pretty much confirmed my thoughts on part of the problem, at least in my case unless someone knows or can prove otherwise.
I went to my brother's house this evening and I tried to log into the game there. No on had ever played the game on his computer, I even had to download the Shockwave stuff. I tried my account and got the Shockwave error. I tried my daughter's account and got in relatively easily, it didn't even take too long to load it. So now I'm really leaning toward believing that it is certain accounts that have the glitch/error, that this is an account-by-account issue, not across the board.
I guess what's frustrating to me the most is I've been so faithful in playing the game every day and I've already missed being able to do 2 Adventures by now (one on the 18th and one since). I guess I'll just have to use my daughter's account and experience the game through that. At least I can play it there. Still, it sucks nonetheless. We'll see if they ever get to it. I may try to call down there, or see if I can find one of my old contacts that works there, but I'm not holding my breath. I know using the Contact Us feature is a bust and they rarely, if ever, reply, let alone read them. I did e-mail them, but that doesn't mean they'll actually get to it. ::)

I've also had this shockwave error message for days on my laptop (which is basically the only computer I can play games). For now, I'm in a different city, using a different computer, so today I decided to try my luck again. This morning I was kicked off from the game one more time on IE, but tonight surprisingly I logged in without any problems... but, I realized that I was using firefox. Now I'm also trying with IE. I'll let you know about the result.
EDIT: Ok, I could also log in with IE. I'll see what happens with my laptop when I return back on Monday, but I'm full of hope now :).

Hello, My son has played BFAHP in the past. Recently, he keeps getting this message after the game has loaded to 100% : "This shockwave movie has errors that have caused playback problems. Please contact the author of the content re: this problem. Shockwave is unable to continue." Is anyone else having this problem and, if so, how can he correct it? We are running current versions of Shockwave and Flash. Thanks.

I'm on a Mac, and I've downloaded Shockwave. Whenever I try to log in, I just keep getting up to 100%, I can see my duties for a second, and then it says "Having Server Errors Connecting. Please Restart Login". ARGH. And I'm one popularity point away from getting a new minigame, too =\

MikesMom, I've had the same problem on my laptop (with IE). For the last few days, I'm on a trip (without my laptop), so I tried with a different computer. At first it gave me the same error message, but then I could log in without any problems. This gave me the hope that they are working on the problem. When I return back tomorrow I will try with my laptop again, and I'll let you know about the result.
B0BSM1TH, I have been having the same problem every now and then, never when I play at late at night or early in the morning. So I suppose it happens when too many people are trying to log in at the same time. Wait for a few hours and try again, or just insist on logging in while you're doing stg else in your computer. I believe you'll be able to play sooner or later:).

I have the exact same error. But this happened to me for the first time since the game started (that's when I began to play).
In my case it happened after I finished an adventure with Bloo. The picture showed up and when i wanted to click continue the error pooped out. I tested this only on Firefox
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I'll try later to reinstall Shockwave and check it on IE and I'll post the results.
I'm on an adventure with Bloo (the virtual reality helmet), and I've finished it - I bring him the last item he needs, some pictures, - so i give him the item, he goes through his little speel, says 'adventure complete' and the full screen pic of the adventure pops up - but when I hit Z or click continue I get a pop up that says:
"This Shockwave movie has errors that have caused playback problems. Please contact the author of this content regarding this problem. Shockwave is unable to continue."
I tried this a few times in netscape, waited a few hours and tried again, and just now tried it in mozilla - nothing's working!
Has anybody else run into this? Is there anything at all I can do?
I can't do any favors because I'm on an adventure, and I can't cancel the adventure because when I log in I already have the last item, the only choice I have is to give it to Bloo.
Help Please!!

Trust me, uninstalling and reinstalling Shockwave is NOT the solution! It's not a Shockwave problem. It's a problem with the movie that uses the Shockwave software. For some reason it isn't able to load properly and play. Until CN fixes that, looks like we're out of luck. Until someone figures out what we can do, sit tight and hope that the errors go away. Unfortunately for me, the errors are STILL there, haven't gone away, even for once.
Please! If anyone has any knowledge of Shockwave and what could possibly help us in this, please post your insight. We'd all be eternally grateful!! :bloogrin:

From my experienec it seems to be more of a programming side from the game developer. like its been said before clearing cache and reinstalls of shockwave typically have no effect. one account login works and the next on the same machine does not.
The problems we experience as players has changed a bit since last summer when the big issues were happening. and the game communicated differently than it use to. from the symptoms I have seen it would appear that the problem is on the server side and not on our client side. thus there is nothing good or reliable we can do to fix the issue.
I found when I have an issue, usually I can log in using one of my other accounts to BFAHP.

I found when I have an issue, usually I can log in using one of my other accounts to BFAHP.
This is why sooooo I'm glad I kept up on my daughter's account even on days she wasn't interested, or forgot about the game. At least I can play on her account and not have to completely start over. We managed to get her pretty close to caught up, except the 3rd Update's adventures, but we'll be current on hers soon. My other two daughters' accounts - 1 doesn't work like mine, and the other is so far behind, she lost complete interest. So I'm not worried about that.

This doesn't really have anything to do with this post but can any of you help me with this problem?
Today, June 28th, i've been having a lot of trouble with bfahp and I was wondering if anyone could help me...
You see, today was the day that I did the adventure in which Bloo wants to make a virtual reality helmet. I finished the whole adventure and I was on the last step where Bloo says something and then it says "Adventure Complete" and then I get the picture...
Well, when the Continue button pops up on the picture and I click it, I keep getting a message that says:
"This Shockwave movie has errors that have caused playback problems. Please contact the author of this content regarding this problem. Shockwave is unable to continue."
I can only click the X or the Ok button on this message and either way, after clicking it, bfahp shuts down!! :wiltshock:
It's really annoying and I wanted to complete this adventure before I leave on vacation which is in approximately 2 hours, and after I leave I don't know if I will have another chance to try it again.
Can anyone help me? This is really pissing me off! :'(

Don't worry claire82 many of us got stuck and got the same error when finishin an advanture with Bloo. Guys at CM must've crashed the animation in development. The only thing we can do now is wait for CN to repair this or someone will find a way to fix this Shockwave error.
Yeah, it's lame that we suffer cause of some error. :(

Say, does this "shockwave error" you guys are talking happen everytime you try to finish an adventure with Bloo? there was a similar issue about 11 months ago, and we all had to wait a few days for the developers to notice, and fix the glitch. I am not up to that adventure yet so I have yet to see the error this month.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but if you go to Notey and click on the briefcase there is an icon for Bloo's Favorite Pictures, which looks like the same pictures Bloo wanted for the virtual reality adventure. I think somehow the error everyone is getting may somehow be tied to this. Clicking on this icon and pressing Z does not seem to do anything so I am wondering what items in the "Favor and Adventure Objects" are for. Bloo even mentioned in the last step of the adventure something about testing the reality helmet on others. But I can't seem to show the Bloo pictures to anyone.
Hopefully CN will get this issue resolved soon because with the adventures it is going to take a long time to fill the popularity bar to play games.

Bloo even mentioned in the last step of the adventure something about testing the reality helmet on others.
The picture at the end of this Adventure shows Ed testing the helmet. I think that's the point which Bloo meant.

I realize that, I was just saying that I thought showing Bloo's pictures to someone would solve the problem but that it does not work (i.e., I poorly worded what I was trying to say). It just seems strange that the pictures are in Notey as a collectible but you can't do anything with them as you can buddies, furniture, and hats. Maybe once the adventure issue is resolved it will free up the Bloo's pictures for whatever you are supposed to be able to do with them. The pictures are the first and only item I have in "Favors and Adventure Objects." Maybe someone else has others objects in this category and can explain what they are for.

so, now, everyone is stuck at that point (almost everyone) what do you do?do you do your duties and that's it for the day?
or have you left it like that until it's problem solved?

I thought I was the only one with this issue. At least every time the error in shockwave occurs, I don't need to go and complete the adventure with Bloo...I just go straight to him and give him the photos to complete the virtual reality helmet. I do hope they get it fixed soon. Things were going so well when I logged onto the game on my birthday too (no chores to do and insta-free minigame!)
I also wrote to Cartoon Network about the error using their feedback form under "games"

The "bloo's favorite pictures" icon is in your briefcase under favor and adventure objects because it was the last step in the adventure.
Even though we have all taken the pictures to Bloo the shockwave error is preventing us from completing the adventure and as such the pictures remain in the briefcase. If you were to look at your briefcase when doing your daily favor you will see the item you are are carying in the same place as the "Bloo's favorite pictures."

If you are in the middle of an adventure, you won't be able to do favors (and vice versa). You'll have to cancel the adventure first in order to do the favors.
I kinda don't see the point in continuing on and doing chores and favors. Eventually, you'll have to stop and do an adventure with Bloo, which means you'll still be stuck. Also, (if I remember correctly) if you cancelled the adventure, you wouldn't be able to do chores, because your status bar would fill back up. If you did favors, you would have 9 days to get your favor bar filled, as opposed to 3 days with an adventure.
There is no use contacting CN via their Contact Us/feedback link(s). They simply do not respond (except an auto-generated e-mail saying thanks for the feedback). Despite that fact, I've already sent in a feedback twice, and have received no REAL response. Go ahead and try, but I honestly think it's going to be what Monty said - the developers have to experience the error first before they will realize it's there and get it fixed. Back when they had Orbit, friends of mine actually CALLED Turner, and CN at their HQ in Atlanta and even then they wouldn't talk to you, let alone admit they were CN. :P They said they were anyone from Disney to some made up company. There were thousands of angry players when it came to Orbit, and they simply refused to take calls (or admit who they were) because of the glitches and scamming that plagued Orbit.
Good luck everyone! In the meantime, stay calm and stay positive. If you're bored enough - start a new account if you don't have one that still works. :P

Ok, this is my tip if you get to the helmet adventure: Just dont't finish the adventure. You can still do you're duties when the Citizenship bar is full. You can still do the Favors. If you get 9 favors done (the whole bar), you can unlock a minigames without an adventure. Finish the Helmet Adventure when the glitch is fix. That's what I'm going to do when I get to the Helmet Adventure. Hope that helps.
Ok, this is my next tip if you get to the helmet adventure: Just don't start it at all. If you chose to not to the Helmet Adventure at all, you can still do the duties even though you bar is full (I think). You can still do the Favors. If you get 9 favors done (the whole bar), you can unlock a minigames without an adventure. Finish the Helmet Adventure when the glitch is fix. That's what I'm going to do when I get to the Helmet Adventure. Hope that helps.

I am stuck in the 3D glasses adventure and I can't quit because there is no option to. I can do tasks but cant do any favors. And this has been going on now for at least 6 days!
That is 3 games levels that I could not open.
If anyone especially Sparky has any real info on what is being done that would be great.

Believe me, I am in no way in contact with the folks who work on the game. Yes, I have a fansite. Yes I *sometimes* talk to the folks who make the cartoon. But that's it, really. I know nothing about the mechanics of the game.

I have an old account that still does not work but when I created a new account it does work. Go figure! Also I tried to reset my password and could not do that either. I tried everything downloaded all new shockwave, flash, and quicktime plug-ins and still nothing. GRRRRR

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I have tried to log in on multiple computers, even ones that I've never played the game before on. I've tried it at multiple houses. Also, it's 2 out of 4 accounts that we have, so it's not all of them, which would make me think it's my computer.
This error is not associated with a certain computer, it is associated with my account. Therefore, it doesn't matter who logs in, or where. It simply isn't going to allow me to play the game. I'm already way behind now, as I haven't been able to play any of the June Update at all. I'm keeping up on my daughter's account, though. She's letting me do it, so at least I can play on that. :)

It helps to read through parts of the threads before posting, Vicks has stated (similar to myself) that he logs in using several accounts on a single computer, and that some of the accounts are functioning while his primary account is not functioning. He also said just last week that he tried on different computers, So how is giving his Password away going to Help? (other then opening a security breach on his privacy). I think Vicks is for the most part just venting about his problems Since he knows that CN never responds when you send them an email. and none of us are working for CN.

I don't know if this error has been posted but i must do it ive been getting this error a long time... it goes like this you log in to the game do all your duties and favors... then you usualy log out... but the next day you log in it still shows that you haven't done any duties i mean does duties that you had to do yesterday!!!!! :'(:'(:-[ it's realy sad...

Vicks, I had the similar shockwave problem at log in with different computers for days, but now it seems to be fixed for me. I know that it's difficult to deal with all the e-mails when you have such a big audience. I just hope that maybe they don't reply the e-mails but they do respond them by trying to fix the problems. :frankiesmile:

THey never fixed the problems or issues when emails were sent for issues on Orbit. Instead they just turned around and closed it.
I just hope the next big venture of CN has better feedback channels than CN current methods.

I was just jus playing fosters and the Sound was all wacked out then the song shut off, (this all while playing Cocos newest game in the Mall).
Then as I went to shoot an egg my IE just closed by itself. Now I have to wait until I can log in again... Darn it!
Not the first time it happened while I was playing either. Darn sound/music.:scaryberry:

I had that problem too. But I logged out. Logged in 5 mins later and it was working.
I have another problem.
I completed the adventure and unlocked level 1 of the new mini-game but when I want to play it an error shows up. The "Communicating with server error" one. I tried a few times but always the same result. Anyone got the same problems?
Maybe it's because of the amount of people playing now. I'll try later and post the results.

Both your post times are right around the same time they update the web sites, so I am guessing your login got caught between servers that were not all syncronized with the newest update sincebetween 9-10 AM EST is usually the time they update the servers.

I could hear the music and Mr. Herriman like usual, after the clock finished loading and it sat there, like it had been all June Update. After about 1-2 minutes of just waiting for that dumb Shockwave movie error window to pop up, I actually saw Mr. H and the foyer!! Eeek! I was able to do the first Adventure and unlock a mini-game. I just did the Coco one since you guys have been having issues with the new one.
I had suspicions that it was tied to the June Update and possibly after the July Update the error might go away, but I honestly thought it was a long shot. I really didn't expect to see my account again. I'm soooooooo thrilled to finally be able to play with my friend and look forward to getting all caught up again. :bloogrin:
I checked our other account that had the same error and it's working too. YEAH! 8-) Anyway, just thought I'd update you all. If anyone is still getting the Shockwave movie error, let me know.

Is anyone else getting a message saying that the game requires a new version of Flash Player and directing you to Macromedia.com to download it? When I have tired to log in I have been getting that message and despite downloading the flash player it still comes up. Am I alone in this?

I think I figured out what is wrong. In addition to the game not loading I am having problems accessing CNN.com and the TBS website. Since CN, CNN, and TBS are all Turner broadcasting owned stations I am guessing that Turner is having some major issues with their web servers.

hi there! i've been getting the dreaded "shockwave error" since 17th of August... i know my shockwave works because I created another account and got in successfully. I read in an earlier thread that this had happened to someone else and was wondering what they did to resolve the issue? thanks! :-*

some things that sometimes help with the shockwave error at login.
press F5 to refresh the page instead of logout or opening a new window
Try logining in under a different account, then try the broken account
try creating a new user account on your computer and logging into you broken BFAHP account through this new user account's internet explorer
disable virus detection and firewalls, close unused things in taskmanager, minimize the running services and processes, ect... ... ... ...

Just a couple things to add...
Empty all cache, temp files and what not.
And for me, I just had to wait until the next update, which fixed the error. I had 2 accounts that worked just fine and 2 accounts which wouldn't work at all, no matter what computer I used. It was the same Shockwave error, regardless of updating Shockwave or installing it brand new.
Sorry, but you may just have to tough it out until the next Update. I really hope that's not the case for you. Try all the things listed above. If you can get other accounts to work, and this certain account won't work, no matter what computer you use - it's the account, not the computer.

Mine has the problem that the error shows that my Flash is outdated. Which I actually did update to the latest version, but somehow, it cannot be fixed. In the end, still, no main menu shows up. :(

Try completely uninstalling Flash Player and then reinstall the latest version. Make sure you follow the instructions at the web site below. If Flash is not completely uninstalled and a corrupt file is left behind then the newly installed Flash Player may not work either. Hope this helps for you as I had the same problem and this method worked for me.

Are you getting this error? "this shockwave movie has errors that have caused playback problems. please contact the author of this content regarding this problem. shockwave is unable to continue." I haven't been able to log into my account because of the shockwave error since August 17th. I started a new account and have been playing fine. It must have something to do with certain accounts. I've even emailed cartoon network at least a dozen times and they haven't responded. I'm hoping that with the September updates I'll be able to login again.... :):D

I am not too worried about it at the moment as I have done all of the August adventures and am just waiting for the new updates.

This was a very common error back when the June Update happened. There were quite a few of us that were unable to log in at all into BFAHP for the entire month, until they updated the site for the July Update.
There are different Shockwave error messages. If you are getting the "Shockwave Movie Error," the one that tells you there is something wrong with the "movie" so please contact the author, then you are most likely stuck until CN updates the site for Sept. Uninstalling and Installing Shockwave or updating it will do nothing for this kind of error.
If you look back from post #19 of this thread and read on until this page, you'll see what we were experiencing, and possibly you'll find your answer in there. Some posts were merged, so it might not all flow nicely, but at least you'll get the jist of what we figured out.
And, you're right, it IS associated with certain accounts - not all of them. At least the Shockwave Movie Error is. You'll see my experiments and conclusions around page 2 or 3, I don't remember where. Needless to say, it didn't matter where I tried to log in, it wouldn't work for certain accounts we own.

No you're fine. This thread used to be titled something else, possibly something to do with Shockwave, and then I retitled it to make it the official error thread. There was also a two-post thread called "Shockwave Error" or something but everyone started just using this thread so it fell several pages back eventually, plus another one having to do with Shockwave that I locked because I wanted people to use this thread.

All of the sudden I can't use my arrow keys within menus (like the floors for the elevator and the map for the bus) - have to use the mouse to select where I want to go - which doesn't make any sense to me bc I'm obviously using the arrow keys just fine w/in the game itself...

It is unknown for the source of the issue, but it sometimes works and sometimes does not.
It could be other applications in the backround, or it could be due to some othre web site you visited interfearing with the game.
so basically ignore it, use the mouse and eventually it will work again.

This has happens to me also and even if I log out, close IE, reopen and log on under either my or my son's account the problem continues. The only way I can fix it is to restart the computer. Something else strange happened the other day. The game usually loads to 100% and then sits there for a while with the music playing before Mr. Herriman appears. But the other day it went to 100% and was silent (no music). Then Mr. Herriman appeared and said repeatedly "Here is the list, here is the list, here is the list" like his normal spiel had been shortened and put on a loop. I couldn't log out but instead had to close IE and wait 5 minutes because I hadn't properly logged out.

Hmm, I'll give that a try. And actually, I tried both IE and Firefox to run the game. Since IE is slow on loading the game sometimes, so I use Firefox. But in the case of both cannot be loaded, that's the reason why I tell the Flash problem. I'll let you know when my problem is solved. Thank you. ;)
EDIT : I tried, it's still not working. I think is it because that I install Flash CS3, which means the Flash plugin is not detected as the detection is in the Macromedia folder, not the Adobe folder. Am I right? ??? Should I install back Flash 8?
