I don't know if it's an old shirt or new but my roomy gave me my stocking stuffer early just today. It's blue and has scribbled drawings of different characters all over the front. My favorite ones on it are Sugar Mac, Orlando Bloo and Bloo getting bombarded by Scribbles. 8D

I'm also really annoyed by all this Bloo/Cheese merchandise. It's getting old.. :(

Anyways, I popped into HT this morning just to look (too broke to buy anything) and they have a lot of new stuff...a bunch of cute new necklaces (a Bloo, a Cheese, and an Eduardo), new pens, that blanket with Mac, the Cheese barrettes, the new bags and wallets, a couple new shirts I think, and Cheese head pillows. The Bloo and now Cheese pillows make me hopeful we might indeed get some bedding next year.

I got the blue men's shirt with the Craig's Blog design but I decided not to spend any more just now because since they have some Rescue Rangers and Ducktales accessories I'm hoping they might get some Darkwing too and I want to save some money for that. It was hard not picking up the new necklaces though, they have a Bloo, and a Ed, a Cheese, and a really really cute Berry. But they're $12 apiece and super cheapo plastic (even the "chains" are plastic) and I just don't think they're worth it. :P I'll wait for other stuff. I didn't get the blanket with Mac either...I dunno, its cute, but I have far too many blankets already. *shrug* And to be fair, I could knit my own with whatever design I want. I could do Duchess, or Terrence. ;) Although I *will* buy a Foster's comforter if they get one.

There is a white T-shirt with Wilt, and ONLY Wilt, on the front, like he's running towards a camera. That and the little terry cloth wrist band are the only exclusive Wilt merchandise so far. I've actually got that shirt, though it's a bit snug even at an X-large size, since it's tailored for slender young girls, but I can still wear it without looking totally disgusting.

OK, I'm back with an update on my quest for the Wilt shirt. Just in case anyone out there cares... <shrugs>

I hit a HT while I was in Anchorage at the start of January, and-- hot dang!-- they had the Wilt shirt. I dig through the stack and find the 2X. I go back into the dressing room to try it on and unfold it; when I see it unfolded (complete with "Wilt" and the number 1 on the back-- I didn't know that was there), I think, There's no way in [heck] this is a 2X. I decide to try my luck anyway, and holy crap. It was white, tight, rather see through and like I was trying to squeeze my 2X body into a large or medium shirt.

I, alas, had to pass on the shirt and content myself with a notebook with the whole bunch on the cover and a Bloo and Cheese key chain that I've yet to put on anything. Can't say I didn't try for my shirt, though.

Now, either they had been repainting or something, because the facade had been all covered in tarps and stuff or...I was simply looking at another, empty store (there is such a tarped-up store near one end of the mall, I saw it today). I think I just saw the empty one and thought that was it. :P I mean, I did look to see if it had moved and didn't see it...oh well, I dunno. But the good news is they're still there.

The bad news is that they don't have anything new or exciting. I went ahead and picked up the Foster's hair elastics, as my hair is finally long enough to tie up again.

SOmething like that happened to me once. I lost my mall's Hot Topic and I was convinced they had left. But when I went back again they were there, just with a smaller entrance that is easily missed by those standing more than 15 feet away.

Sounds like HT went through a remodel or something country wide. Much the same thing happened at my mall. They moved to a different part of the mall, and their new entrance is very small for some reason. It's easy to miss. I thought they were gone until I looked at the directory and just realized they moved. Thankfully the inside of the store is just as big (if not bigger) as before. :bloosmirk:

Hmm, my mall's HT moving took place last fall. Yeah, sounds like the store had a company wide revamp of some sort.

I was reminded of a funny thing that happened last week this morning, concerning the first blanket featuring Bloo and Cheese. Thought I'd share. :P

As we are well aware, the show's style is without black outlines. Same goes for their merchandise, including the blankets. It's also useful for you to know I like to sleep in the darkest room possible. I have blinds and thick green curtains up in my bedroom window. At night it's nearly pitch black in there, and in the morning, only enough light creeps in between the blinds and the wall for everything to be in gray scale (that is, not enough light to see colors, but I can see). Now, I have the blanket on my bed, and one morning last week, I woke up and noticed the creepiest thing. In my drowsy state, I thought something had actually happened to my blanket! But what could possibly make Cheese disappear entirely?? All I could see of Cheese was his eyes and grin. The yellow of his body and the light blue of the background are apparently very close in scale that without my seeing the actual colors, they blended right into each other. I could see Bloo fine, as his dark blue stood out from the light blue background. But Cheese had disappeared! All I saw was his floating face! Oh, and Bloo had a hand shaped "hole" in his side. It took me a second to realize that nothing was actually wrong, it was just a visual effect. I reached over and turned my lamp on and Voila! There was Cheese, perfectly fine. I cracked up laughing at how I thought something had happened to my blanket. *gasp* Someone stole Cheese right off my blanket!! :wiltshock: 8D

Feel free to try it if you've got the blanket. As long as it's just dark enough to see everything in gray scale. All you'll see is Cheese's floating eyes and teeth. It looks kinda creepy. :cheese:

Yes, yes it was.

Everyone else posted about Eau de Kazoo(I like my name better than the real one) and the wallet, so they aren't exactly new. Still, it's good to know about these sorts of things, and that's fine.

Sparky's right about the fragrance; It's strong and long-lasting. I put some on my wrist about four hours ago, and I'm still smelling it. But at least I smell like Bloo, as opposed to the other character who got a fragrance.:cheese: (No offense)

Look, I love Bloo and Cheese (to a certain extent; too much may make me want to hurt someone), but there are other great characters on the show. Don't just limit them to a single shirt and a spiral notebook (the latter I am a proud owner of)-- give them the beanies and the zipper pulls and the keychains and their own little fragrance and stuff. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I'd be willing to spend money on all of that stuff if there was a little more variety.

You could argue that, from a retailer perspective, Cheese is what sells, but it's not like they gave the rest of the cast much of a chance. Admittedly, with high international postage fees and my ever-diminishing bank balance, I was unlikely to shell out any further notes unless HT coughed up something really special...I guess it's the thrill of checking the site for new updates that I'll miss the most.

This is pretty much what I said in my letter to HT asking to PLEASE put the othr characters on some merchandise. This was the letter (I put it in smaller text because it's rather lengthy. And I sent this over the site, not on paper):

To whom it may concern:
I would like to take a moment to express my mild dissatisfaction with the types of “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” merchandise being carried in your stores as of late.

I very greatly enjoy “Fosters…” and love that the series has such a successful merchandising deal. However, as I peruse your site and talk with other fans, it seems that only two characters of the show, Bloo and Cheese, are part of the merchandise being carried. The spirit of “Foster’s…” is in the vein that Mac shares his adventures with Bloo and the other friends at the house—Wilt, Eduardo and Coco—and all are quote-unquote guided by the adult figures of Frankie, Madame Foster and Mr. Herriman.

Despite this, Bloo and Cheese ([the latter being] an admittedly popular but minor character, being in only three of the series’ episodes) get the entire proverbial spotlight. Indeed, Bloo and Cheese are wonderful characters, embodying the series’ sense of childlike fun and whimsy and adding color and humor to each episode, but the other characters have several other wonderful qualities. For example, Wilt is a very warm, friendly character who is much more complex than originally thought, as shown in the Emmy™-nominated hour long special “Good Wilt Hunting.” Frankie is another prime example—she serves as a “big sister” to the other imaginary friends and to Mac, balancing the chaos around her.

If one were to look at the variety of Foster’s-based fan-made art on deviantart.com and the fan fiction on fanfiction.net, they would find that Wilt and Frankie are two of the most focused-on characters, both in fan’s art and stories. It would be a foolish idea to not cater to these fans’ love of these and other characters. Wilt would make a wonderful vehicle for a sports-based line (given his profound love of basketball, which is frequently addressed in the series), while Frankie could be used for a line geared more towards young adult women: shirts, purses, a possible fragrance, etc.

I hope very much to see more Foster’s merchandise on Hot Topic shelves and on hottopic.com; I also hope that that future merchandise showcases all of the wonderful characters on the show.

True, Bloo's face still found its way onto a lot of stuff, but chiefly as Cheese's marketting sidekick. I can only imagine how degrading Blooregard Q. Kazoo would find such a prospect. :blooupset:

It isn't just your opinion, but mine, also. If the reason for discontinuing the merchandise isn't because of other companies to license FHFIF merchandise, then I think it could be the over-saturation of Bloo Cheese (especially Cheese) merchandise. I look forward to seeing what's being offered from other retailers in the future.

Not really. I imagine that it didn't help that I told my parents the shirt didn't fit and that they wouldn't get why I wanted to make the shirt into a pillow! I'm gonna beg a friend to let me borrow her check card thingy and pay her back. My other friend went to a HT over spring break but didn't find the Wilt shirt. Apparently all they had was stuff with Bloo and Cheese. ::) I need to get crackin on my HT search.

I finally got to dig around Hot Topic's clearance bins for Foster's stuff during a mall trip yesterday: I wasn't too disappointed.

I rooted out a notebook with "I [heart] Bloo" on it and some of the hoodies there. I didn't get anything, because I didn't feel like paying until the prices were lower (I think they could go lower than half off, but I'm cheap).

The socks are cute, but I didn't see them when I went to HT on Friday.

I got a pair of gloves with Bloo doing his icy chill thing (8-)), and I FINALLY got the Wilt shirt. Then I bought a pillow, put the shirt over it like a pillowcase and sewed it shut in two places (with black thread). I now have the most awesome pillow EVER to grace my mattress. And I don't even sleep on it-- I use it like a throw pillow.

I did have an interesting conversation with the sales clerk-- I mentioned that I'd heard HT was going to quit carrying the Foster's stuff and she said, "I haven't heard that-- we just got a whole bunch of new stuff in." <Points to new stuff> I was confused, but it was a happy confused.

And yes sometimes there is a difference, sometimes a website will run a deal (whereas the store that runs said website will not) in order increase traffic and sales, and yes sometimes the inverse is true too. Sometimes the store will run a sale while the website will not.

Walgreens does that quite a bit with their photo department. Every few days I get another email from them informing me of a discount photo offer that's only available online. Kind of irritating, really. As for Hot Topic, I may look at their site later but I doubt I'll buy anything.

Just went up this morning ... on the HT website, the all-over print men's shirt is on clearance now ... $9.98 for normal sizes, $10.98 for 2XL.

Would've been even nicer if it was on clearance a couple days ago (with the add'l 50% off), but can't really complain even at half-price. I bought extras myself ... the one I have already has been easily the shirt I've worn the most.

When I get my stimulus check (crosses fingers), I plan to stimulate the US economy a bit myself by spending it on some last minute Foster's stuff, particularly the throw with Mac on it. Maybe a few other things too. I kind of hope the throw will be on clearance price by then so I can save some, but even if not, I've wanted it so bad for so long, I'm getting it anyway. :)

I went to HT today for the first time in months and was pleased to see they still had a number of Foster's stuff in stock, and out where the customers can see them (not hidden in the back corner like they did at Claire's). I was hoping to at least see one of the plushes, but there was none. The only blanket they have left is the new black one with only that yellow man on it...

I have a minuscule amount of money at the moment, so I spent a little while there. I got the hair band set, which included four bands featuring that little yellow man, so I gave them to my sister since she loves him. The Bloo and Eduardo ones I wore as bracelets for the day. :smed: I also got a cell phone charm, a pen, and their very last Deo shirt, which was on clearance for $9. :bloosmirk: So I left pretty happy, and with some extra money still in my bank account.

I then went to Claire's and got some lip balm and their last Bloo pin. :frankiesmile: Yeah, I don't think I can ever have too much Foster's stuff.

Thank you, Cass! :bloogrin: I love it! I even brought it on vacation with me a few weeks ago, as I couldn't pull myself away from it (did you see it in the pics?)

And as my sister's b-day is tomorrow, I decided I'd drop by HT after work today and get her something. While there, I dove in and bought some stuff for myself since most Foster's stuff is now on clearance, so if I didn't jump now, I knew I'd lose my chance forever.

I love this purse! It has a cell phone pouch inside, along with a zippered compartment, and the buttoned pocket on the outside. It snaps closed, and the sides even expand so I can stuff more "junk" into it. And "Yellow Man" is, well, yellow, so he really isn't noticeable unless you look closely, so I don't feel he's over done here. The only downside is that I wish it had a shoulder strap.

"Mints", although the taste and texture are more like SweeTTarts. They're pretty good though.

I need more tank tops, no lie. The color and design aren't my preference I suppose, but it'll work. And of course it's got that silly little Blooregard on it, so yippee. :bloosmirk:

On clearance for $4! And they reach my knees! Just in time for the cooler season (I'm wearing them now). Yay!

I'm a little poorer I guess, but not too badly. I'm happy though.

I have those socks; I'll wear them when it gets cooler. And I want those mints. :terrsmile: They had that bag and matching wallet last time I was at HT on clearance, but I don't care for them so I didn't pick them up.
