I've got a Deerfield Farms sausage in my refridgerator that's been ripening in various fridges for at least 13 years. Kind of a faminly heirloom at this point. It's probably still good, partially because it's never been opend and is completely sealed, and partially because no self-respecting bacteria would go near it.
