I think you should wear the costume, but I will say if it is inconvenient for you to lug it around, then don't wear it. If it does not bother you - then go go ahead. I think everyone would be used to you in it anyway.
As for me, I have been writing a story based of the famous plane crash in San Diego. I have been heavily involved with my music (arranging and recording roughs). I am trying to get back into gigging again ( I have over 25 years of club exoerience).
