While the desert hairy scorpions (about 6 inches) are more outdoorsy and just have a painful sting, the bark (about 2 and a half to 3 in long) are the NASTY ones. Their venom has been declared dangerous and can kill small children and the elderly. Good news - no bark scorpion death has been recorded for 30 years.
