Ah well, even though I was fully aware at the time just how bad the movie was, that didn't stop me from owning a tie-in Panini sticker book and collecting the various stickers that went with it. At one point, owning and collecting for Panini sticker books was a fairly costly hobby of mine (though I think that only three of them were ever completed - Dalmatians remake wasn't one of them). Anyway, they had a recap of the story in there, and the dog in question was duely identified.
The main problems with Dalmatians: The Remake was that they a) robbed the animal characters of the power of speech and downplayed their side of the story, which was a huge loss, b) tried to turn it into some kind of Home Alone knock-off, in which the animals set nasty and improbable traps for Cruella and her gang, and c) featured wild animals which are not found in the UK, like raccoons and skunks (Paul Whitehouse was obviously particularly irked by that last point, since he made fun of it in a Fast Show commentary, for which Mark, incidentally, wasn't present). As for Jungle Book: The Remake, I never actually saw that one. So it could have been a lot better, though clearly it's still the 60s animated classic that people remember...based on the writings of another Kip(ling).
