Unlike a certain British Prime Minister of recent decades, this lady is for turning:

I know nothing!

Although I may have previously implied that I thought this movie was a very bad idea, I'm prepared to eat my words. While I still maintain that Spielburg and Jackson are quite capable of making a nasty mess on the floor and that even Pegg and Frost have not always been in totally brilliant things I think this might be a winner. Why? Well rumour has it that Joe Cornish is among the scriptwriters and if Cornballs is involved you can reasonably expect it to be played for the right kind of laughs. He's a very funny guy.

Incidently one thing that Nick Frost was in that I definately liked a lot was the 2nd series of Hyperdrive with Kevin Eldon and Miranda Hart.

Well, I did some research on the progress, and yes, Joe Cornish (as well as Edgar Wright and Steven Moffat) is one of the screenwriters of the film. I've also found out that the first film will actually be based on the books The Secret of the Unicorn and The Crab with the Golden Claws.

Moviefone recently chatted with stuntman Garrett Warren, who revealed some details regarding Tintin:
Quote:
It looks an awful lot like the cartoon. They really wanted to bring the cartoon to life. So if you know the cartoon, or have seen the books, that's what it looks like. It's beautiful. You would have thought to yourself that they would have tried to go for a more realistic look, but they're actually trying to preserve the look and essence of the original 'Tintin' characters.
He also revealed some details about Iron Man 2, but that's for another thread!

I'll give it a chance. I loved the books and enjoyed the cartoon, so I'm curious as to how this will turn out.

The only thing I'm a bit annoyed by is that I don't think my favourite book (Cigars of the Pharoah) will be made into a movie. But that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.

I know Wikipedia isn't always a trusted source, but I just read that it'll apparently be based on four of the Tintin books: The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Shooting Star, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure.

I have heard about this film for quite some time now. It has loads of big names behind it, but they struggled for funding, so was delayed a bit.

Originally, Thomas Sangster (who voices Ferb in Phineas and Ferb) was cast as Tintin, but he dropped out due to other commitments

Thanks for the link. That's usually the case with motion capture films. The filming itself takes the quickest, but the actual animation process takes the longest!
