Academy Awards
Having resurrected the Best Animated Feature Oscar Submissions thread, I feel a thread for the Academy Awards in general is in need here. Plus, I don't want to start another thread for this recent announcement. The Academy has 15 films in running for Best Visual Effects:
Angels & Demons Avatar Coraline Disney’s A Christmas Carol District 9 G-Force G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Sherlock Holmes (Wasn't expecting that to happen) Star Trek Terminator Salvation Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 2012 (Expecting that to happen) Watchmen Where the Wild Things Are In January, the Academy will narrow the list down to seven. The Academy will view 15-minute clips of the seven films, and then will narrow it down to three. Now with that out of the way, feel free to talk about the Oscars, past and present. Do you watch them? Favourite moments? Who deserved what? Also, if you want to view those memorable moments, the Academy now has an official YouTube page.
