I have my doubts about Shyamlan as director but I am kind of dissapointed that it won't be animated. Outside of anime, animated movies are a dying breed and cgi movies are loosing their charm since they have flooded the market.
I do think that this movie, if done right, could be one heck of a ride. I'm actually hopeing that it is something similar to the original Ninja Turtles movie. I really hope that they cast Mako as the live version of Iroh. The man made that role as great as it is and he even looks like him.

Sadly, Mako passed away from cancer last year.

Yeah, I know Sokka is not a Firebender NOW. Believe me, I won't trust Wikipedia on Avatar: TLAB ever again either.
