Comic-Con International 2011 - San Diego, July 21-24, 2011
I should have posted this sooner. This is for anyone that may be interested in going next year and may not know about the dates. SDCC 2011 will be from July 21-24, with Preview Night on July 20. As of right now, there are no four-day memberships without preview night (most likely will be available from people who cancel their memberships, and when/if Comic-Con International resells them). Registration will begin online on Monday, November 1, 2010. Please visit comic-con.org for more information on dates, membership costs, and any additional updates.

Wow, rude much? ORD made note here of an event coming up very soon, that being the start of online registration for the Con, which sells out faster every year, so yeah, it was a very good idea for him to give everyone a heads-up about it. Some people might actually want to go to next year's Con, y'know, and registration is mandatory to get into the event. Think about that for a minute, m'kay? Sheesh.

With the insanity of quickness that the tickets have been selling out recently I picked mine up at the Con, but great idea to remind folks ORD. Can't wait for next year it should be a blast. Who all is signed up already for 11?

(Raises hand) I registered for 2011 about two minutes after picking up my badge for 2010.

A Difficult Decision
The 2011 Comicon will be my last one. The price hike for next year (4 day w/preview nite) is outrageous and absurd! $175! That is from $105 for THIS YEAR! I will be travelling to SD with Cass next year - just will not include the Comicon in my entertainment plans.

And thus ends another Con. It's been an eventful five days; lines that could encircle an aircraft carrier, a trip out to Palomar Observatory, a few missed opportunities, an exhibition hall so packed that breathing and moving were dang near impossible, dining at all sorts of restaurants, occasional parking and traffic nightmares, and around 300 photos documenting it all. All in all, it's been one hell of an event. I'll have more to say about it later; for now I'll simply say that it was good to see everyone again, and I'm looking forward to next year's event... after I've recovered from this year's extravaganza. Shouldn't take more than 5-6 months.

All in all, it was a good LAST Con for me. I got to do a lot of the stuff Cassini mnetioned above (Palomar Observatory, Henshaw Valley, Julian, and Ramona), and then some.
I will be back next year same time, but I will not be at the Con, jsut hangin' out and doing events that I used to do when I lived here in San Diego. Come hang out with me when have time between Con events. |
