I guess the same could be said about Cardcaptor Sakura. I figured if Cass can start a thread about Sailor Moon, why can't I do the same with CCS? So, here it is.

Cardcaptor Sakura was the show that got me into anime. When it first premiered in 2001 in Australia on Cartoon Network's Toonami (as the butchered Nelvana dub), I really got into it. The characters were engaging and fun, and the episodes were fun to watch as well. Ever since then, I've grown a lot and now have a good understanding of dub vs. sub (even though I prefer the dub), and it wasn't until recently that I was able to watch the anime PROPER without any butchering.

I'll be posting my reviews of the episodes I've seen per DVD disc, and if they're other fans here on this forum, feel free to post here on any characters you like, favourite moments, or anything.

So far, I've just finished Disc 2 of Collection 1, and I'm suddenly reminded why Sakura is my all-time favourite anime character. Not only is she adorable as hell, but she has great interactions with other characters on the show, especially from Yukito. Seeing her blush makes me feel warm inside every time. Of course, with Syaoran Li now part of the group, it's hysterical seeing him get so nervous around Yukito. His facial expressions are brilliant as well. In the episode where the MIST Card nearly collapses the set of a play Sakura's brother was in, Syaoran's 'WTF/You've got to be kidding me' face at the end was HYSTERICAL! Here's hoping the next disc introduces Meilin! She's going to be a blast!

Just finished Disc 3 of Collection 1.

The episode with the elderly man at the mansion next to the country home was quite sweet. The reveal at the end was very surprising.

But of course, when Meilin arrived, she was non-stop hilarity! From the death glares she gave Sakura to her over-enthusiastic attitude on how Syaoran will be better than Sakura, she was brilliant.

Speaking of humour, Chiharu's way of dealing with Yamazaki's lies at the beach and the summer festival was very funny.

I'm really looking forward to more of Meilin, as well as waiting for the first time Syaoran blushes. That's going to be quite a sight to see.

Just finished Disc 4 of Collection 1. One more disc to go and I'm half-way there!

As usual, Meilin's 'Syaoran's-my-fiance' attitude was just hilarious, and it was quite interesting seeing the new teacher Ms. Mizuki. I was very surprised by how she knew Touya.

However, the highlight has to be Syaoran's blush at the end of Episode 27. Even if it was short, it was funny seeing him pass out like that. I can only imagine what Meilin's reaction would've been!

I'm hoping for more comedy moments involving Syaoran's blushing. I may have to compile them all!

Finished Disc 5 of Collection 1. I'm now half-way through the series! I now have to wait until November before I can watch the rest.

Needless to say, it ended on a great high note. There was plenty of comedy (Syaoran's constant falling down at the ice rink was an absolute highlight! ), and seeing Kero FINALLY regain some of his powers was great. I can now only hope that the rest of the series will be as memorable as the first half was. I'm really looking forward to it.

In the meantime, anyone else a fan? Share your favourite moments/characters with us.

At long last, collection 2 has arrived, featuring the remaining episodes. I just finished disc 1 of collection 2.

It was off to a great start. Syaoran's feelings for Sakura are truly starting to show now, and Meilin was just as hilarious as ever. I mean, how can you NOT laugh at this:

But of course, Tomoyo Daidouji's obsession with filming Sakura just gets funnier. In the episode where a snow storm threatens to bury the town with snow, the snow storm worsens as Tomoyo realizes...

'At this rate... I can't film Sakura! '

Cue Sakura falling down in annoyance!

But in all seriousness, I'm really looking forward to watching the rest of this anime. I do hope that it turns out great.

Just finished Disc 2 of Collection 2.

It was sad seeing Meilin go back home. I'm really going to miss her hilarious antics. But, on the bright side, the arrival of Eriol Hiiragizawa showcased Li in his... shall we say, jealous side! Every time Eriol was on screen with Sakura, I kept on waiting for Li to appear, just to see his reactions!

Only 3 more discs to go... not long to go now.

Just finished Disc 3 of Collection 2. Only 2 more to go...

Li's jealous side just keeps getting better and better! Actually, looking back on the episodes I've seen so far and judging by the number of times Li blushes, I may have found my favourite moment ever! The episode with the calendar was quite touching, and it was very funny to see the introduction of Spinel Sun aka Suppi... getting drunk with sweets!

I'm really looking forward to the episode with the elevator. From what I've seen and heard, it looks to be a very good episode.

Disc 4 of Collection 2 is finished. Only one more to go...

It was so good seeing Meilin back. She didn't change one bit. It was wonderful seeing Tomoyo giving Syaoran advice on confessing his love to Sakura, although I'm starting to get annoyed by the constant times he gets interrupted. Also, seeing all the little hints like Toya seeing Yukito slowly fade is making me anxious as to how it's going to turn out for everyone.

Well, only one more disc to go, and the entire anime will be finished. It'll be sad, but rewarding, as I'll have finally watched this anime that means so much to me in its entirety. It now only leaves the two movies now.

Well, the last 7 episodes are done. I can now finally say that not only have I watched this in proper, but I can also say that it's without a doubt my all-time favourite anime.

The reveal that Toya knew that Yukito was Yue was very touching, as was the surprise that Sakura heard the whole thing. Of course, there was still some comedy, which is great. But the ending of the last episode was very sweet and beautiful. Seeing Syaroan FINALLY give that teddy bear he made to Sakura was wonderful. I can now only hope that Madman release the two Cardcaptor Sakura movies so that I can finish this story.

I do hope there are other Cardcaptor Sakura fans on this forum. Please share your experiences seeing this series, or even the two movies. Your favourite characters, moments, anything!

It's been WAY too long since I posted here. So, here's an update my viewing of this series:

I've FINALLY seen the two movies! Yes, the two Cardcaptor Sakura movies were finally released in July 2014 and June 2016 respectively, and I'm happy to say that both movies are just as fun as the series. The second movie in particular, The Sealed Card, was an absolute ride. Because I watched them when they were released, I won't be able to recall any funny/key moments in both films.

However, I will say that it was worth the wait! I loved and enjoyed both films. I will say that the second film is the best of the two. Very emotional and a brilliant ending to the series.

Well, it would've been if it wasn't for the announcement last year (for Cardcaptor Sakura's 20th Anniversary) that A NEW MANGA AND ANIME SERIES IS BEING MADE!!!!!!! The manga began publication in July 2016 and THE ANIME WILL AIR IN JANUARY 2018!!!!!!!

Apologies for the caps lock, but this excites me very much! Just like Cass and Howard in 2008 when a new Star Trek movie was announced. Anyway, from what I know, it'll focus on Sakura in junior high school. It'll be based on the manga entitled Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card.

I, for one, am excited to return to this fantastic series and enjoy Sakura Kinomoto and her adorableness once again.
