Default Cars 2

Just got back from a test screening of Cars 2 in Roseville. I don't want to totally spoil it but let me say it was very unlike the first one, quite dark, they talk about killing cars a lot and a lot of them get hurt (and I think one is actually murdered onscreen). Lots of action and explosions. Also don't bother seeing it unless you LOVE Mater. It was basically Mater: the Movie. Sorry for the negativity but I was really disappointed. The good news is they took feedback from everybody so they will probably improve it before next summer.

Oh, looks like this might be the worst critically received Pixar movie yet.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/cars-2/

(Well 59% as of this posting is still above average, but compared to Toy Story 3 or UP! that's a pretty steep drop.)

But then again the critics can bad mouth this film until they're blue in the face, it's still going to make a whack ton of money at the box office and the merchandise stands.

It should make enough to earn a profit, I agree. But dang, now 33% and "Rotten". I hate to say this, but even Pixar, like everyone else, isn't bulletproof, and it was not "if" but "when" they would make a "dud". This is their first dud, at least on the side of critical reception.
