Spaced

For the first time in ages. Heck, I think I was just beginning at University the last time I saw Spaced. It's a likeably atypical (no laugh track for a start, which is always a bonus) and slightly surreal situation comedy from the same creative team who would later go on to give us Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, in which Simon Pegg and the sadly rather short-changed Jessica Hynes play the two leads. The sense of humour is pretty heavily dependent upon movie spoofs and pop culture references, but for the most part not in the glib or irritating way which tends to bog down your standard Dreamworks animated picture (ugh); the folks here do at least make an effort to put their references into a context which is in itself funny, rather than assuming that we'll be automatically amused. And the characters, once you get to know them, are surprisingly complex and interesting. Brian is my favourite.

Scrubs

My brother (who's over here for the week) purchased Season 1 on DVD. I've been wanting to check out the show for some time, and I finally had the chance, and so far, it's really good.

"Lost Worlds" on the History Channel. I've completely dismissed this show thinking that it was just an excavation show but I was pleasantly surprised with the episodes I actually sat down and watched. The episodes about William Wallace and the Templars have made a fan out of me. Now I try and watch this show whenever its on.

They premiered it on CN today. Great episode, indeed. Season 2 was definitely better than the first one. I cannot wait until the third season (I assume there will be one).

It just so happens to be our favorite TV show. I'm still in the "Red, White and Bloo" marathon hang up. I don't want to put my DVDs away yet. I need my fix, especially with another week with not even reruns coming up.

Right now I'm watching "Cookie Dough"

Iron Chef: America

Last night the secret ingredient was...Mushrooms. The more versatile vegetable of them all. Good thing I ate before watching because all of the dishes they made, looked mighty delicious.

Dexter

I FINALLY had the chance to check this show out last night, and, to say the least, it was... interesting. I'll watch the rest of the season before I decide what I think of it, though.

Fairly Odd Parents. There really wasn't anything else on and YTV plays this show several times in a row to fill up their "The Zone" line up. What ever happened to variety, YTV?
