I started watching the show because of Wilt, long before Cheese was introduced, but it is the entire show-the characters, the humor, the in-jokes, the cameos by outside people/characters, the references, everything, basically-that kept me watching it. Cheese is funny, SOMETIMES, but he has the potential to be easily overused and become annoying, and he's far from my favorite character. I don't think that any one or two characters should "carry" this show.

Agreed. I'd hate for this to be the Mac and Bloo show, or the Cheese show. It's called "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" implying that it's about imaginary friends. It's not "I Dream of Frankie", "Bloowitched", "The Wiltman" or "Eduardo's Island". XD

Cheese has his uses and has had some amusing moments but I can think of several characters I like better, most of whom can be seen in the opening credits (the original version, anyway). In any case the show was fun before Cheese, and it continues to be fun without him.

I like Cheese, but I'll be damned if I was watching Foster's just for him. I'm more interested in how Bloo can take a totally normal day and turn it into something completely exciting/traumatic, depending on which side you're on. XD Also, Mac and Wilt. XD

I think it would be a bit unfortunate if most viewers only tuned in in the hopes of seeing Cheese, given that he's only appeared in five or six episodes overall. If Cheese is your favourite thing about Foster's, then that's fine and dandy, though if you watch the show on a regular basis, it might be a good idea to find other things to enjoy about it, if only for your own benefit.

I have a few friends who ONLY watch because of Cheese, yes... most of them are my age (in their early twenties). I hate the fact that they only watch it for Cheese, but at the same time I'm thankful that they watch it at all I like Cheese, but he's nowhere near my favorite character. He's like GIR on Invader Zim

Something about him strikes people. Even myself, after I got over being annoyed by him. I just got a bunch of friends into watching Fosters, and they love Cheese. He's by no means their only source of enjoyment, or even their favourite character (preferring Wilt, or Frankie, which I told them was "everyone's favourite"), but we do generally greet each other now with "I like chocolate milk" and "I have dermatitis".

You forgot "Cococo-co Co-coco". Though that one contains a decidedly obscure reference and doesn't roll off the tongue so easily for non-anime watchers.

I'd so watch "Eduardo's Island" though.

Topic? As has been said before, Cheese is best served as a side dish, lame pun intended. It becomes simply unsettling when his madcap antics begin to come plainly at the expense of other characters (see: "The Big Cheese" and "Cheese a Go-Go".)
