Does anyone recall a very old comic book called the Spirit?

It is created by well-known comic artist name Will Eisner, and the story revolves around a detective, who ventures around the world to fight criminals, dispensing them with his own brand of justice.

Sorry if the summary sounds corny, but that's how it sounds.

Anyway, I heard that the Spirit will soon become a motion picture, directed by none other than Frank Miller, another famous person in the comic book industry. The film itself is suppose to be out either next year or in 2009.
