Default You Never Think it Would Happen Close to Home

I have buried people in sobriety and recovery, but I never thought I would have to do it so close to home and family. We lost a dear friend in our family, to an overdose. I am angry - not at her, but the disease alcoholism, or addiction itself.

I remember when this woman was born, and I watched her grow up the first 15 years (lost sight after she became an adult). The last time I saw her, was in 2001 at her father's (my Uncle's) 60th birthday. Even then, she appeared distant although friendly.

I will stop now, because I am at a loss of words...
