Default Work Experience

I just need to announce this:

Staring from this Monday, I'll be doing work experience at a local video store for a week, so that it'll help me when I'm searching for a job, which means that I won't be here most of the time for that week. But I will try to get on after work if I can. I'll be changing my avatar to reflect on this as well.

BTW, in case anyone thinks that I'm too old for work experience (since I did similar ones at high school), I came in contact with a place called Break-Thru, and they help with people who have trouble with finding a job or (like me) who have disabilities like Asperger's or speech problems.

Best of luck with it, of course. Do what you need to do and drop by to say howdy when you have the time. And by all means, tell us how it goes!

FF, I want to let you know I am a disabled vet. I do have a good job, and for that I am greatful. I have to be very cognizant of my regimen from my doctors, and my medications.

Yay, this is the second job opportunity I've heard about in the last 48 hours alone. That's so great! Good luck with it in the future, FF. Hope the outcome is positive.

Default Monday

Pretty much easy. All I did was grab the DVDs that were returned, scan them in so that the computer knows it's returned, clean the DVDs themselves (great to get that cool water whenever I sprayed the liquid! ), put in a locker (that stops the DVD case from opening) and place it back on the shelf. Plus, we got to open a box of new DVDs (Get Smart!! ).

All in all, an easy day, but that was only because not that many people come in on a Monday, and both Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be busy, so we'll see how we go!

Well, it's done. I'm not really sure if this is going to help with getting a job, but we'll see what happens.

As for what I did, well, I helped with re-organizing the DVDs in the Comedy aisle, the video games, change the posters that were in the store, and re-organize the spare DVD covers that were in the back room.

It was tough, but I made it through... and I'm back!

Glad it work out well for you, dude. It's experience, which is always helpful, wherther it leads to a job or not.

By the way, your current avatar is a perfect fit for this week's events. Nice!

I think it will help you get a job, especially if the interviewer can tell from your interview that you're really want the job and will work hard (believe me, that's what will give you the edge over other young inexperienced applicants). I got my first job at 15 with no work experience, but I was sure to show the interviewer I really wanted the job.
