Talking Hallmark

Well, my systematic search through the cards, stickers, and stationary items for anything Foster's related is about to pay off. Woo Hooo!!

As of yesterday, in fact, CN made a deal with Hallmark, giving them licensing rights to merchandise cards, holiday items, and party supplies (among other things) from some of CN's top shows. And yes, our favorite one is in the list.

So, in a few months, if not sooner, be on the lookout at your friendly Hallmark store for new exciting Foster's stuff. Any other store that carries licensed Hallmark products will likely start carrying CN stuff, too. Yay! Can I say it again?

Yay!

Here is the news story.

I'm still hoping for stickers and stationary.

Oh, dear. I hate to be the one to tell you this but that article is from February of 2007. Sorry.

Red face falls over

Ah ha ha ha!! Oh my, you know, I didn't see the year, just noticed it was posted February 5. I feel like such a fool.

Has anyone else heard of this though? I just learned of it today, via ToonZone. Perhaps it's a typo? If it really is year-old-news, it must have fallen through because I love Hallmark, and I know I would have noticed anything CN related whenever I visit the mall. If that's the case, that's very sad. Very sad indeed.

Lol, I'm still laughing at myself. It appears I've been awfully ditsy lately.

And btw, it's totally ok if you laugh with me.

If it makes you feel any better that's nothing compared to some of the whoppers I've committed.

I've unfortunately never seen the Foster's characters on any cards anywhere in my area. Too bad, really; one character I can think of would be perfect for Valentine's Day. But perhaps we'll get lucky before long, and the geniuses at Hot Topic will treat us to a full line of Cheese cards.

I have anthrax. Happy holidaze!

ROTFL!!

Have you heard of this before, though? I'm wondering if the year in the article is a typo. Being still early in the year, it very well could be. I know I'm still writing "07" on most things I date.

I thought of that. The links on the page lead to other articles of about the same age; hardly conclusive evidence, but a strong indication nonetheless. I hope it does turn out to be a typo, though, if only so we can have Mr. Herriman cards in time for Easter.

*sigh*

Ok, I did some research, and it appears the article, and the date, are legit. There are similar articles at Animation Magazine, Anime News, Access My Library, and a later article at Multichannel News, all dated February '07.

Reading these however I learned that news broke about CN Mattel toys being released long before we actually started seeing them. So there still might be time for Hallmark products to show up. Perhaps they were still in the development stage throughout most of last year or something. Well, I'll certainly keep my eyes open.

Wow, this sure took long enough.

But finally, FINALLY, it appears Foster's is appering in Hallmark stores. I read at ToonZone today that a memeber there was astonished to find a Halloween card at Hallmark featuring, you guessed it, Foster's!

Quote:
It has the gang dressed up for Halloween ala their "Nightmare on Wilson Way" costumes, and when you open it, you get the opening of the Foster's intro playing with Bloo screaming "WHOO-HOO!!! This is awesome!".
I tried to find any other reference to it online and unfortunately didn't find it. But look what I found on eBay!

There wasn't a picture of the inside, but it is suppose to say "You're The Best! Happy Birthday"
And it plays the theme song when you open the card up.

Yes, I must quote Blooregard here by saying WHOO-HOO!!! This is awesome!

Where the heck was this card a week ago?! Kudos to Hallmark for finally catching on! Very awesome find, Lynnie-- I echo your WHOO-HOO.
