I was just talking to someone last night how Halloween isn't the same as it was when we were growing up. There are no where near as many trick-or-treaters as there use to be 20 or even 10 years ago. Everyone seems to prefer to go to parties, or haunted houses or some other Halloween oriented activity than trick-or-treating. I think it's sad. I love seeing all the little costumes the kids wear. We had only three come to our door last night.
With less people out and about, there's less people to see the goings on around the neighborhood. And yet the spirit of the holiday itself is "tricks" I can't help but expect teens, and even young adults, are stalking around doing pranks of some sort or other. There seems to be more and more of it on Halloween night. I saw a group of "older kids" (maybe young teens) still going house to house at 11:30 last night. I took my jack-o-lantern inside just to spare it any harm doing. I don't trust greedy people still walking around the neighborhood at that time of night.
