I think my Mommy is lovely just the way she is, too. But wow, what is this world coming to?
On the other hand though, I can kind of understand where the author is coming from- so kids won't feel like they don't know their mother (or father) anymore because they had some surgery done to where they look completely different. I can see how confusing that would be for a young child.
