Like most others here, I used to enjoy this show back in its first three seasons - in theory, the concept of a crime-fighting cheerleader who routinely saves the planet from megalomaniacs sounds like the makings of the worst cartoon in history (and indeed, I found KP to be a very difficult show to sell to others by word-of-mouth, who usually scoffed when I mentioned that I watched such a show), but when I first tuned in I was pleasantly surprised by just how slick and refreshing it was...not to mention that the fight scenes, usually those that went on between Kim and Shego, were genuinely serious and exciting (those acidic green hands of Shego's were a nasty, albeit awe-inspiring, weapon). I like to think of it as the Disney Channel's swansong, and after it's initial cancellation I'd decided that I was pretty much done with the DC. I do keep meaning to check out the new series (thus far, I've only seen one episode on You Tube), in part because I'm just so delighted to hear that they finally brought back one of my favourite villians Frugal Lucre (that he'd never returned in any of the previous seasons was always one of my biggest regrets). But other than that, I'd say my enthusiasm for KP has largely burnt out, a process which begun long before Season 3 aired its last. I put it largely down to the show's hostile online fanbase who, as I've mentioned in another thread, consisted predominantly of rabid Kim/Ron shippers who didn't seem to like anybody talking about anything else...I spent very little time with that crowd overall, but it had nonetheless succeeded in killing a lot of the fun for me. Fond of Drakken, Shego and Monty Fiske though I was, I never quite managed to muster the energy to start writing letters to Disney to renew the show...by the time they announced that, contrary to DC's previous line, a fourth season was in the works, I'd long since moved on. That said, I've still managed to keep in touch with the small group of friends I made online whilst discussing the show - friends who, like me, were renegades from the mainstream fanbase. Go us.
