Actually, that button's known as a web-clap; I'm not exactly sure what it does either, but I think it's some kind of bump button that says you like this person's site or etc. Clicking on it multiple times doesn't let you "see" all the pictures; it's just a code written in to provide a new picture every time a person reloads that page.
Not that clapping multiple times is a bad thing though, heh.
The url for the clap images are ~~~/clap1.gif where ~~~ is the person's webpage, just change the numeral at the end.
