Doing things differently is great, but posting a welcome message for a member who joined eight months ago, made well over 200 posts and left three months ago just seems perverse and kind of pointless. I'm no mod, but I'm sure they would point you in the direction of the many active, relevant threads elsewhere on the site, to which I'm sure we'd all be happy for you to contribute.

EDIT - Empty? I only just noticed that...are you looking at the same site as us? ???
