The Butterfly Effect
Turns out that the version I was watching earlier today was (unbeknownst to me at the time) the Director’s Cut, which had a bleaker and more dramatic conclusion than was apparently shown theatrically.
Nothing beats a well-made time travel movie, and this one certainly had an intriguing storyline and haunting central concept. My only real criticism would be that it felt a tad too similar, in many respects, to the infinitely superior
Donnie Darko (

no 6ft skeletal bunny rabbits to speak of here, but a lot of the thematics were fairly familiar), a parallel which the DC ending only reinforces. Nonetheless, it kept me involved for the two hours running time, and I was more than a little moved by the final outcome.
