once you take the screenshot, it is then in the clipboard. and needs to be copied to somewhere. I usually use Paint for just the picture or a Word Processor if I am using the picture with othere notes on the page.

Paint can be located on Windows: Start Menu |All Programs | Accessories
just open paint then use Paste to get the screenshot in, then save the file.
