I think he fears abandoment (if that's even spelt right). It would definitely make sense, I mean, come on! In 'crime after crime' he punishes himself by sending himself to prison (haha Wilt the jail bird. He has his own title!), just so he's safe from what ever he thinks will happen to him if he isn't punsihed for standing on a rug, holding chalk, standing with in one hundred feet of a lamp ya da ya da ya da...

I say he has a fear of sharp things, because even though he has amesia, he may have quick flashbacks of something sharp and that will be all. If he sees a sharp object, he gets terrifide (SP) of it and doesn't know why, but that's just me.
Besides, there could be other ways that he lost his arm.
