He was previously made into a 2005 film starring Keanu Reeves, and it wasn't a great film, but it certainly wasn't a bad one either. The TV series and movie are both based on the DC/Vertigo comic book/graphic novel series Hellblazer, and while I haven't read them, I'm still interested in seeing the TV series, regardless of what everyone thinks.
