R.I.P. John Hughes

Yes, I'm sure that you're all tiring of these constant R.I.P. threads, but I felt sad that John Hughes didn't yet have one around here. If you haven't already heard the news, Mr. Hughes, director of such comedy classics as The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and writer and producer of that other great family favourite, Home Alone, has died from a heart attack at age 59:

Strange to think that I was only two days ago talking about how much I loved Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and how saddened it always makes me to feel to know that John Candy is no longer with us. Today we add another fine talent to that list. R.I.P. John. :(

Ditto, he was behind some pretty sweet movies. The entertainment industry will miss him greatly, as will us, the general public. RIP Mr. Hughes.

OT- I have a friend whose sirname is Hughes, I wonder now if they're related? /OT

It is indeed a loss. Those are 3 really great funny films but also kind of culturally important. Ferris Bueller's Day Off was my favourite of them. It always seem to promote exactly the right attitude to adversity.
