Do you believe in Ghosts?

Self explanatory.

I just thought of it after noticing the supernatural thread in here, and since this is a big topic, I'm sure people will get a kick out of this.

Explain why you do or do not believe in ghosts.

Good grief, no!

I do not believe in ghosts or any other such things, because there is no scientific evidence. I prefer to deal with things that are real. I'm also not sure that this is a good topic for the Forum to get into but I'll leave it open for now.

I just figured this was a good "discussion" type issue as the next.

It borders on some very explosive topics that people feel strongly about.

Gosh, Cassini, if you don't start watching P&T Bull**** soon I might have to make you. It's made for you!

Anyway, I too don't believe in ghosts or anything else that could be considered supernatural or unearthly. Mainly because, as Cassini said, there's no scientific evidence, not to mention all the people that have been exploited by psychics, and all of their smelly bretheran. I'm looking at you John Edwards you gigantic, stupid, ugly jerk! >:(

*Whew* But anyways, I've been raised as a skeptic and that's just how I'm hardwired. I mean, atheism (which everyone and their grandmother seems to think is a negative idealology) is what makes me want to keep going and do right by my fellow man. Then again, everyone's different. So I don't mind the believers of ghosts (as long as they aren't named John Edwards! ;) ).

Mr. Marshmallow 09-19-2006 02:23 PM

Well if people get out of hand, I'll try my best to break 'em up. I'm not here to start problems, I just want to know what people think of this and hopefully cooler heads will surface rather then hot ones.

And in regards to the topic at hand, I most certainly DO believe in ghosts. But I think I'll wait and see what other people think before I explain why, simply because I think I've already taken up too much room with these posts I've made :P.

I'd love to watch but I don't get HBO, and a cable box would interfere with my recording equipment. :(

John Edwards should be stuffed into a barrel, packed on board the next available shuttle, and flung into deep space. He's a worthless scam artist and nothing more. >:(

Cassini, you'll thank me for this later: Lots and lots of P&T episodes

And this one on ghosts is especially for this thread:

I'll wager that ghost experiences (excepting lies, exaggerations or delusions) are some kind of as-yet unexplained electro-magnetic phenomena. You know how we used to store information on manetic metal tape, maybe other forms of matter have that property, like old stones in castles and old buildings that store and play-back information on unseen atmospheric cues....

BlooCheese 09-19-2006 02:52 PM

Hah! How wierd. We were discussing ghosts in my biology class today and how scientists assume that nothing supernatural exists and that everything has a natural, reasonably reasonable reason.

And I don't believe in ghosts.
But ghosts do make up some good stories.
