Tallest Man in the US
 

I just came across this article on Yahoo News, about this sheriff's deputy in Virginia who's nearly 8 feet tall. Naturally, he reminds me a lot of someone else, not just his height, but his demeanor, build and physique, but since this isn't exactly a Foster's topic, I included it here. The guy DID play basketball(no surprise here), including with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Wow big cop! I'd like to see the crime stats in his area. Does crime go down because of the deterrent effect of an enormous law-enforcemement officer or is there an increase in very small crime?

He actually says in the interview that rather than being intimidated by his height, suspects are fascinated, and this helps him to build a rapport with them and gain their trust, so that they are less likely to commit another crime and presumably more likely to assist in naming other suspects. I guess it's the same way with Wilt; people are awed by this guy's stature just like Mac and Bloo were by Wilt's in the pilot. I was surprised that this guy only had size 18 shoes, though, since Shaquille O'Neal wears a size 23, so this guy's feet must look awfully small in proportion to his height! Heck, *I* wear a size nine and I'm nowhere NEAR this tall(I'm short even for a woman), and I've got Jr. High students who already were a size 14, so the shoe size was something that stood out moreso than the height.
