My first TATTOO!

Whoot!

I have been wanting a tattoo for years. I can't believe how everything just fell into place....after looking at TONS of designs, I found the right one (it gives me such joy looking at it), and I went to "Starlight Tattoo", a very popular and professional place.

They are BOOKED these people...I can't believe I went in there, just in time to get worked on by a guy who had exactly one hour (the time it took to do the tattoo) to do it, before his next client came.
He was also a wonderful tattoo artist, so friendly and chatty, and he sure made ME feel good, as he seemed to think I was an attractive girl. ;)

Here is the tattoo...I hope the size isn't too big to post here. If it is mods, just let me know and I'll shrink it.

It represents my love of dragons (a life-long thing since I was like five), with a bit of feminine quality to it, and has my favorite colors. ^_^ I'm so thrilled with this little gal, she'll bring me a smile every day!
When it heals fully, I'll take a picture of the actual tattoo and post it. :D
EDIT: To answer Sparky's question, that was not specifically designed for me, I got it off of a website called TattooJohnny.com, one of the sites I checked out for designs. It's a great website because you can pick out a design, and download the picture and stencil, then just bring it with you to the tattoo parlor, where the artist can make the stencil transfer and it saves a lot of time!

...Did they design that just for you? In any case, that's really pretty. :D

I still want a tattoo, I just haven't settled on a design (I insist on designing my own). It would probably have to involve spiders.

YAY! You finally got INKED! Now, there's at least two of us here sporting permament artwork! I have to admit, tattoos are sorta addictive. If I could afford 'em, I'd probably get as many as I could get away with hiding in order to keep my teaching job, LOL! I've got two, both of which I designed myself. I don't know why, but for me(and I am NOT the masochistic type)the process if not painful at all, but relaxing, plus I always enjoy talking art and stuff with the tattoo artists.

I remember getting my first tattoo. My arm went nimb in the process, it was funny. Where is it on you?

Oooh... this makes me even more excited to get mine! I've been old enough to for almost a year now, and I even have all the money ready in my car to do it, but the closest place to get a quality tattoo is about 1 1/2 hours away, so I haven't made it down there to do it. I always keep the money in my car, though, just in case.

It's just so frustrating that I have to go so far to get it, but it'll be worth it whenever I finally find the time to go.

Upper right arm. :) The artist made her look a little more pink then purple, so I have to decide if I like it that way or want it darker. She looks quite cute either way, but I'm glad I have a week or so to think it over. (Since you can't really judge a tattoo until after it's healed.)

Good luck with that! I wouldn't suggest keeping money in your car though, especially something like $100 or so, which is what a tattoo costs. Keep that money safe in a bank or somewhere in your room in a lockbox, not in your car! Just my own advice.

Oh and PB, it's awesome to hear that you have tattoos, I'm usually quite surprised that so many people have them and one would never know it! I too can conceal it easily enough with clothes if I have to, and yeah, especially for work. (Not that they mind much at work, especially a harmless little tattoo like that one. It's not a Nazi symbol or something.)

Yeah...I didn't believe everyone when they said it was addicting....because I thought the experience would be too painful and I'd never come back for another one. (I was going to deal with the pain because I wanted it that badly, though.) But wow, it was nothing. Really nothing. Of course, the arm could be a place that's far less sensitive...but it's like a hot pin scraping your skin, and is more annoying then anything else! (For those who are considering getting one, don't be nervous, like PB said, it's more relaxing in a strange way and a great tattoo artist who likes to chat makes it even better!)

Thanks everyone for your compliments.

Oh, you lucky duck! It's such a pretty tattoo.:D

As soon as I turn 18, I plan on getting a tattoo. I went to a tattoo parlor this summer to get my navel pierced, and I saw a sign that said that no minors could get tattoos, even if their parents signed for them. I actually thought that quite smart of them. But they were so nice there and that's exactly where I plan on getting my tattoo. They kept asking me if I needed to lie down and if I wanted any juice and I was like, "No, I'm fine," and I got right up off the bed thingy. Okay, now I'm getting a bit off topic, sorry:P

...Am I the only one who doesn't want a tattoo?

The dragon's real cute, though. ^^

I don't want one, either. Good luck to everyone else, though.

I tried to give myself a tatoo that spelled "Bloo" using sunscreen, but it didn't work.
