Episode Theme Songs

After the character theme songs, you would've at least seen this coming. These are ideas for theme songs to episodes. Here's mine for Cookie Dough: Takin' Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive

You get up every morning
From your alarm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty

And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me, I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day

And I've been takin' care of business every day
Takin' care of business every way
I've been takin' care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime
Work out

If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows

People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day

And we be takin' care of business every day
Takin' care of business every way
I've been takin' care of business, it's all mine
Takin' care of business and working overtime

Take good care of my business
When I'm away, every day

You get up every morning
From your alarm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty

And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day

And I've been taking care of business every day
Takin' care of business every way
I've been takin' care of business, it's all mine
Takin' care of business and working overtime

Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business ...

Somehow, the episode "Blooooo" says Michael Jackson's "Thriller" to me.

"C" the Dragon 01-09-2007 12:06 PM

"Everyone Knows It's Bendy" makes me think of "You're A Devil Of Disguise" by Elvis Persly.

some guy you dont know 01-09-2007 03:46 PM

"squeeze the day" makes me think of "Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight" by tiny tim and "dare to be stupid" by weird al. oh, and "experimental film" by TMBG. and i guess you could say "lips of an angel" by hinder suits FMD.

Crash-N-Cortex 01-09-2007 08:56 PM

The episode "Frankie My Dear" reminds me of the song by the Black Eyed Peas "Don't Phunk With My Heart".

bloonuggets 01-10-2007 07:46 PM

The only song that I can think of for "Mac Daddy" was "Jump Jump" by Kris Kross. ("Mac Daddy makes you... JUMP JUMP!")

Bus The Two of Us- "Just The Two of Us

Who Let The Dogs In?- "Who Let The Dogs Out?"

HappyFoppy 01-21-2007 12:16 AM

C: They're already puns. Most episode names are puns though... :)

Squeeze the Day: "Wraith Pinned to the Mist (and other games)" by Of Montreal. "Let's pretend we don't excist... Let's pretend we're in Anartica(sp?)..."

Frankie My Dear: "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" by someone. :/

The name of the artist that perfomed that song would be Cyndi Lauper.

I know. I just figured. Besides, can you imagin the AMVs made for those? I can almost see that! That would be wicked, especially with neat effects!:D

derangedperson 01-25-2007 08:50 PM

A few that came to mind.

Bus The Two Of Us: "Road Trippin'," Red Hot Chili Peppers
Setting A President: "Elected," Alice Cooper
Everyone Knows It's Bendy: "@$$hole," Denis Leary
I Only Have Surprise For You: First half--"Panic Attack," Dream Theater; Second half--"Sabotage," Beastie Boys
IHFU...MUUP: "Jack@$$," Green Day

With edited audio so they sound like the real episode title. :)

bloonuggets 01-31-2007 07:42 AM

"Frankie My Dear" should've had Mary MacGregor's "Torn Between Two Lovers".

Crash-N-Cortex 02-12-2007 08:27 PM

Part of the episode "The Sweet Stench Of Success" reminds me of P. Diddy's "I'll Be Missing You".

Cell_Phone_guy 02-14-2007 02:50 PM

These are the themes for various episodes:

Phone Home: The Call by the Backstreet Boys
Store Wars: Complicated by Avril Lavigue
World Wide Wabbit: Virus Alert by Weird Al Yankovic
Bloo's Brothers: The Real Slim Shady
Go Goo Go: Story of a girl
Challenge of the Superfriends: Kryptonite by Three Doors Down
Partying is such Sweet Soiree: Aaron's Party by Aaron Cartier.

kaytea 03-21-2007 10:50 PM

I mentioned this in the character theme song before but The Sweet Stench Of Success makes me think of "Far Away" by nickel back XD

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there’s just one left
‘Cause you know,
you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore

One my knees, I’ll ask
Last chance for one last dance
‘Cause with you, I’d withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I’d give it all
I’d give for us
Give anything but I won’t give up
‘Cause you know,
you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore

So far away
Been far away for far too long
So far away
Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
‘Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
‘Cause I’m not leaving
Hold on to me and
never let me go

FailedShapeshifter 03-22-2007 04:29 PM

This may seem weird, but that song really makes me think of the whole series....of course that could be my love of Nickelback talking:P ............I really have nothing elese to contribute.....
*runs*

YuckieDuck 06-08-2007 07:27 AM

Bon Jovi's Say It Isn't So for "Say It Isn't Sew". A lame idea but everytime I see the episode's title, that song starts playing in my head. 8D

Tonya 06-16-2007 09:11 PM

I can't think of the exact name of the song but it's by Evanessance (sp?).
I thought it would have been heart-meltingly lovely in "Good Wilt Hunting". Just picture that scene in the begining where Wilt looks out the window all sad and then the song lyrics start...

"I’m so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
cause your presence still lingers here
And it won’t leave me alone

These wounds won’t seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There’s just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I wiped away all of your tears
When you’d scream I fight away all of your fears
And I’ve held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
all of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I’m bound by the life you’ve left behind
Your face, it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All of the sanity in me

These wounds won’t seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There’s just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I wiped away all of your tears
When you’d scream I fight away all of your fears
And I’ve held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
all of me

I’ve tried so hard to tell myself that you’re gone
But though you’re still with me
I’ve been alone all along

When you cried I wiped away all of your tears
When you’d scream I fight away all of your fears
And I’ve held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All….Of….Me"

I think these words pretty much just about has Wilt all through them, through every line and through every word. It's a deep and perfect song for him, in my opinion.

Fosters4ever 06-17-2007 09:23 AM

Akon's lonely might be good for sweet stench of successs when mac and bloo think of each other..

My Immortal is the name. That is a very good song and it does kinda fit him:D

Bus the Two of Us: "Another One Rides the Bus" ~Weird Al.

How about this one for Frankie My Dear? I'm A Believer by Smash Mouth (sung from Mac's point of view!)

I know it's been said, but: "My Immortal" is the title. Moving right along:

This is a great song for GWH. It's definately got that gut-wrenching sorrow that you can sort of assume Wilt is feeling throughout the episode. (Mind you, I'm guessing on all that: All I've seen is of the actual ep is twenty solid seconds, but I've read the synopsis and have gotten a good deal of info from posts other users have on the forums.) Of course, I'm biased here-- I love "My Immortal," and come dangerously close to crying whenever I hear it. )When my school did a Veterans' Day ceremony a few years ago, they did a slideshow of pictures and this was the song they used. I cried then.) Good choice, Tonya!

I think I feel a fanfic coming on... * Quickly switches to MS word to start writing *

Xroc88 10-11-2007 11:34 AM

The episode setting a president could use rammstein's amerika.

BluebottleFlyer 10-13-2007 03:28 AM

'Challenge Of The Superfriends' - 'Hero Management' by Biffy Clyro. Lame, I know...

Crash-N-Cortex 10-13-2007 09:45 AM

Gorillaz's "Clint Eastwood" could be suitable for "Nightmare on Wilson Way".

WiltsAKGirl17 10-15-2007 07:19 PM

Here's a fun one:

"Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" by Edison Lighthouse for "Frankie My Dear." ( )

It's lame, but the song is about a girl who spreads love wherever she is, and that's basically the whole plot of FMD. (Mind you this song is from the 1970's-- I have odd musical tastes. Most of the stuff on my iPod is from my parents. They have great music!)
=========
Added 10/19: Got another one!

"Online" by Brad Paisley for "World Wide Wabbit."
I'm so much cooler online
Yeah, I'm cooler online

The actual song is a little different, but these lines just give the whole image of that video Bloo and Mac got (not telling so people who haven't seen the episode can have a chance and be surprised) a great ironic humor.
=========
Added 10/20: And yet another...
"Homeward Bound" by Simon and Garfunkle for "Good Wilt Hunting."

I'm sittin' in the railway station
Got a ticket for my destination
On a tour of one night stands
My suitcase and guitar in hand
And every stop is neatly planned
For a poet and a one man band

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thoughts escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

Everyday's an endless stream
Of cigarettes and magazines
And each town looks the same to me
The movies and the factories
And every strangers face I see
Reminds me that I long to be

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thoughts escaping
Home, where my musics playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

Tonight 'Ill sing my songs again
I'll play the game and pretend
But all my words come back to me
In shades of mediocrity
Like emptyness in harmony
I need someone to comfort me

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thoughts escaping
Home, where my musics playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me
Silently for me
Silently for me

This song just fits Wilt whole cross-country journey about going back to his old neighborhood, and I'd imagine going back home to Foster's. (Man, I'm long-winded today... :gooblab:)
=======
10/24: Got a new one... AGAIN
"I Get Around" by the Beach Boys for "House of Bloos," particularly these lines:

I'm gettin' bugged driving up and down the same old strip
I gotta finda new place where the kids are hip

My buddies and me are getting real well known
Yeah, the bad guys know us and they leave us alone

This just sums up Mac and Bloo's feelings by the end of the pilot ep perfectly.

taranchula 11-07-2007 06:52 PM

L7's 1992 song "Pretend We're Dead" totally fits Foster's 2007 Halloween special "Nightmare On Wilson Way" like a really zombiefied glove, in my opinion.

Crash-N-Cortex 11-10-2007 01:31 PM

Puffy AmiYumi's "K2G" can good for "Go Goo Go" when Goo creates lots of imaginary friends.

bloonuggets 12-02-2007 07:54 AM

"Nightmare on Wilson Way" - any slasher film theme.

Xroc88 12-06-2007 03:48 PM

For the ep dear frankie.

We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

We've know each other for so long
Your heart's been aching
But you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it

And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

(Ooohh give you up)
(Ooohh give you up)
Never gonna give
Never gonna give, (give you up)
Never gonna give
Never gonna give, (give you up)

We've know each other for so long
Your heart's been aching
But you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

Ridureyu 12-07-2007 10:54 PM

I think we just got Rickroll'd.

Xroc88 12-08-2007 03:58 PM

Also the is the song fosters home in general.:D

So random

WiltsAKGirl17 01-26-2008 10:32 PM

I know I've said this on another thread, but "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon for "Berry Scary:"

You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye in the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and....

You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you
You're so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive
Well you said that we made such a pretty pair
and that you would never leave

But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me
I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee and....

You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you.....

Well I hear you went up to Saratoga and your horse naturally won
Then you flew your Lear jet up to Nova Scotia to see the total eclipse of the sun
Well, you're where you should be all of the time
And when you're not you're with
Some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend
Wife of a close friend, and....

You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you.....

Just the way Bloo totally ignores Berry and her attempts at winning him over makes me think of this song.

taranchula 02-28-2008 07:42 PM

You know I've always found the song "Burn in My Light" by the band Mercy Drive to be a fitting song to describe most if not all of the events that transpired in the episode "The Sweet Stench of Success"

Lets take a look at the lyrics shall we...

The nebula rising up out from the black of deceiving lies
A new star is born now he brings you the
light with his hands untied
They tried so hard to follow, but no one can.
Inside you're all so hollow, you understand?

Hey! Nothing you can say!
Nothing's gonna change what you've done to me.
Now it's time to shine.
I'm gonna take what's mine while
you're burning inside my light.

I give and you take and I waited for
you but I made a mistake.
It's clear that your fear is so near
because I see the look on your face.
You tried to hold me under. I held my breath.
Alone and now you wonder what I possess.

Hey! Nothing you can say!
Nothing's gonna change what you've done to me.
Now it's time to shine.
You're gonna burn in the light
Hey! Nothing you can say!
Nothing's gonna change what you've done to me.
Now it's time to shine.
I'm gonna take what's mine while
you're burning inside my light.

Hey! Nothing you can say!
Nothing's gonna change what you've done to me.
Now it's time to shine.
I'm gonna take what's mine
Take what's mine
Hey! Nothing you can say!
Nothing's gonna change what you've done to me.
Now it's time to shine.
I'm gonna take what's mine

You're gonna burn in my light
Burn in my light!

WiltsAKGirl17 05-05-2008 06:34 PM

Wow, this is old. Still, if I don't post these I'll lose what little sanity I have left.

For "Jackie Khones and the Case of the Overdue Library Crook" I'd go with either "Secret Agent Man" or the Peter Gunn theme. Take your pick.

bloonuggets 05-06-2008 06:19 PM

I thought for the upcoming "Bloo Tube" episode, the Ringo Starr/Buck Owens ditty "Act Naturally" would be good.

BluebottleFlyer 05-08-2008 09:12 AM

Bad, bad, bad suggestion for the soon-to-be-aired "Bloo Tube"..."Video Killed the Radio Star" - Buggles. Lame, I know...::)
