"Wilt Parade Balloon" CN ad

Wilt Parade Balloon Ad

(Oh no I violated YouTube's TOS! It may end up being removed, I guess...)

An ad that aired during the showing of Make Believe that I recorded so I snipped it out and uploaded it to YouTube. I *have* to assume that balloon is CGI.

One Radical Dude 11-20-2006 12:22 AM

Wow, I'm missing a lot of stuff lately. :P Nice video there.

pitbulllady 11-20-2006 02:09 AM

YAY! Wilt has his own BALLOON in the parade, as well as the float! AND the female announcer thought he was cute, too. Now, it's on to appearances on "The Tonight Show", "Oprah"(and you KNOW Oprah would be all OvER Wilt's story), co-hosting "Saturday Night Live"(OK, maybe not...); just make sure he cannot actually see or hear the audience, and everything should be great.

Then Wilt could be on "Survivor". He'd be the first reality show contestant in history to vote himself off so everyone else could stay longer. :D

WAH, BRILLIANT!!! 8D But soo true...

Cassini90125 11-20-2006 11:19 AM

But if he did that, he wouldn't get the million dollar prize, and couldn't give it to the poor starving orphans... ::)

CG 11-20-2006 11:35 AM

LMAO Cassini!

And aw, that's sweet. I love how they went "Ooh, I think we have an accident." that was classic. Poor Wilt got snagged on power lines! S'what you get for being bigger then life I guess. :p

Imaginary Light 11-20-2006 12:02 PM

I just saw the ad! Now, I'm a little confused. Are they actually going to have that float at the parade too, or just the one with Wilt and the house?

SkittleMonkey 11-20-2006 12:08 PM

I think the Wilt balloon was just for the ad. It all looked computer generated to me.

DoubleLatte 11-20-2006 12:15 PM

Ditto. Same thing my sister told me when she saw the ad and was kind enough to inform me about it.

Speaking of which, did anybody actually catch the sneak preview thing of the floats on the Today Show? Someone here posted about it.

EDIT: Never mind.

pitbulllady 11-20-2006 04:55 PM

They showed a brief clip of the balloon, a different scene from what's in the clip Sparky uploaded, on CN tonight during the showing of "Make Believe It Or Not", so apparently there IS such a balloon.

Ooh, really? I MUST find out more on this matter...

Yeah and unlike some celebrity guests, you would know for a fact that Wilt would not leave footprints on Oprah's couch towards the end of the interview. :jk:

bloonuggets 11-21-2006 07:23 AM

Sorry, but there won't be a Wilt Balloon in Macy*s Parade Thursday. That was just imagined for the ad.

Wendi 11-21-2006 12:58 PM

I wish they had a wilt balloon for real. That would be awesome :D

"C" the Dragon 11-21-2006 03:58 PM

That's pretty funny! Especially the ending when the Wilt balloon got caught by the wires!:D For some reason, that made me giggle!

Yep. I saw a different clip today during an ad for Friendsgiving and Good Wilt Hunting and they used that same Wilt "balloon." It's not real; they're just using it to act out their own little version of the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

:p That got a giggle out of me too.

SkittleMonkey 11-21-2006 05:06 PM

Aaw, that makes me sad... Oh, well; at least the float's going to be in it! ^_^

taranchula 11-21-2006 07:30 PM

Aw well, maybe next year eh?

Besides as awesome as Wilt is, I think Eduardo would make for a better balloon IMHO. :-/

Cassini90125 11-21-2006 07:43 PM

Definitely; look at his basic shape. Big and round is ideal for a balloon.

CG 11-22-2006 07:07 PM

Ohhh that'd be muy bueno! :-/

Sumshine 904 11-24-2006 06:50 PM

Well, balloons can be complex, too. Anyone remember the Rugrats balloon a long time ago? That was really big and complex, so I'd imagine a Wilt balloon could be possible.

The bloo 11-29-2006 05:29 PM

I saw this so many times

Mr. Marshmallow 12-02-2006 09:02 PM

This wouldn't have been bad if they didn';t replay the same balloon image over 50 BILLION TIMES! Seriously, for a Foster's marathon, I honestly think you could have made at least one more image OTHER then Wilt to show around 300 times.

Yes I know it's because it's Wilt's big movie, but come on, if your honestly sitting down and watching the marathon, chances are your gonna get sick of the same balloon ad and image replayed over and over and over.

Invader Bloo 12-02-2006 09:34 PM

Yeah, those bumpers got annoying at around 12.
A Bloo one would be the most ideal real ballon since he's the main-main-main character, by that I mean the one who gets the most episodes centered on him. *prepares too get bashed about other characters being just as important*

KazooBloo 12-16-2016 04:21 PM

It is.
