crew-approved sneak peak of Foster's float!

FYI you guys-- tomorrow at 8 am, The Today Show will be featuring a sneak peak of all the new floats and balloons in the Thanksgiving parade---including Foster's!! :bloogrin If you're around a TV in the morning, check it out!! -Lauren

Thornwhistle 11-13-2006 06:07 PM

Too bad I won't be able to see that, because I'll already be at work at that time. :(

Carlaz 11-13-2006 06:09 PM

:) Woo hoo - will do!

Sparky 11-13-2006 06:17 PM

8 am?? :wiltshock:

Lol, I'll try to. Thanks for telling us, that was nice! :)

I will *try* to capture it and upload it somewhere, or at least do screenshots.

pitbulllady 11-13-2006 06:18 PM

Darn it! Somebody PLEASE make a screen cap of this, since I'll be at work, with no access to a television at that time, and I really would love to see the float! I am very likely to sleep until 11 or so on Thanksgiving Day(we have a rather late Thanksgiving dinner with our family, though it better not be TOO late, since I have a pressing engagement at 7:00 pm), so I'll probably miss the parade itself, sorry. Hey, I have to get up at 5 am every weekday, and I'm so not a morning person, so don't take it personally!

DoubleLatte 11-13-2006 06:55 PM

Cool. I'll be up by then, so no problems there. I don't have class tomorrow until 10.

One Radical Dude 11-13-2006 07:12 PM

Thanks for letting us know, Lauren. We appreciate that. :)

CG 11-13-2006 08:55 PM

Somebody, watch and take pics! If possible, record? Sneak peeks are welcome to those who aren't in the USofA.

BabyElephant 11-13-2006 09:29 PM

Wait, wait, wait...there's an "8:00 in the morning", you say? And people do things such as viewing television programs at this bizarre time? Intriguing... :o

LOL I'm with you on that one!

Sparky 11-14-2006 07:22 AM

I'm taping the show right now - they haven't gotten to the floats yet.

edit: they just showed a preview of the segment. Wilt! :D

Sparky 11-14-2006 07:38 AM

Okay the segment is over - I honestly don't think uploading a video is necessary because the camera never moved, so there's only one shot of the float anyways. However, the guy stood beside the Foster's float the entire segment, so it got some GOOD airtime for the Today show. It's the House, with Wilt standing in front (and that's all we could see). I'll get a screencap in a minute.

Cassini90125 11-14-2006 07:40 AM

I expected Eduardo for some reason but I'll happily settle for the house. Did the Today crew say anything interesting about the show?

Well the guy DID "introduce" the float to the other reporters, by describing what the show was about, which is great press. Anyways I'm sure there will be more characters, they didn't show the entire float.

Okay there were two more shots than I thought I would get - from the abovementioned segment preview, when they did a closeup of Wilt. So here's all three:

The farthest-back shot

The reporter standing beside the float

The closeup

Maybe they didn't want to make Wilt smile because of the tough time he's going to have in the movie airing the same day as the float. ;) It looks like he's listening to something.

(If these pics do anything evil to my bandwidth I'll have to move them to Imageshack or something. I dunno how many ppl are going to come here to look at them.)

Cassini90125 11-14-2006 07:57 AM

Looks pretty good, can't wait to see it in the parade! :)

Howard 11-14-2006 08:46 AM

Very nice. I do like the close-up of Wilt!:D

taranchula 11-14-2006 08:57 AM

If anyone does want to see a video of the segment, they have it up on the:MSNBC Website

(They'll probably have the video up for just the remainder of today though, so be quick.)

Just select "Today Show Video" and then click the link: "Turkey Day Parade Celebrates 80'th anniversary."

Imaginary Light 11-14-2006 11:22 AM

The float looks amazing from what I can see in the pictures. I can't wait to actually see it floating down the streets of New York City!

CG 11-14-2006 11:29 AM

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaang. Wilt looks amazing!

One Radical Dude 11-14-2006 11:40 AM

Good stuff. Wilt looks like maybe he's got butterflies in his stomach or something, eh? :wiltshock: I cannot wait to see this thing in action. ;)

"C" the Dragon 11-14-2006 11:50 AM

8 AM?!? I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL BY THEN!!!:wiltshock: Can someone *please* put it on tape when they have the chance?!

Cassini90125 11-14-2006 11:53 AM

Someone did; see post #17 in this thread.

Whew, thank goodness.

EDIT: I like it! Am I glad that I live in Michigan! Whoo Hoo!!

Invader Bloo 11-14-2006 01:03 PM

Ooh real Wilt! I hope Frankie & Cheese are on it.

CG 11-14-2006 03:06 PM

Maybe they'll have someone pose as a real life Frankie for the float?

Invader Bloo 11-14-2006 03:17 PM

Meh, that'll be cool. If they pick someone who looks like a real version of her.

Cassini90125 11-14-2006 04:16 PM

Well, now I've got a reason to tune in!

CG 11-14-2006 04:38 PM

They do that in Disneyland don't they? Find young women who look like the fairy princesses 'n dress em up all nice. I'm sure they could find a Frankie somewhere.

Cassini90125 11-14-2006 04:45 PM

Not as pretty as the original, but they could find someone.

Kzinistzerg 11-14-2006 06:05 PM

Wow, i'm...14 hours off... Very nice though! It's fosters! Wheee!

bloonuggets 11-14-2006 07:21 PM

Two things to tell "C" The Dragon:

1) There's no school on Thanksgiving, and
2) If you live in Detroit, forget about seeing the parade on WDIV-TV there.

Chaos Wielder 11-14-2006 07:23 PM

Wow, those are some nice pics, Sparky! Thanks a bunch for posting them up! I can't wait to see the float going down the street during the parade! XD

Carlaz 11-14-2006 07:29 PM

Nice work! Thanks Sparky. :D

GrimTheLost 11-14-2006 11:59 PM

Thanks Sparky for showing the pics. It made me smile.

waynekaa 11-17-2006 07:00 PM

Arrrgh! I missed it. :(

But the photo of Wilt looks sweet.

I know. I'm planning to go to the parade to see the real deal!

kaytea 11-18-2006 01:59 PM

wow that float is amazing
I wish I could see it in action but im going down to Cali for thanksgiving and my grandpa will be watching football all day

I wont be able to watch the Tv movie D= premire
*hopes they show it again the day after thanksgiving*

One Radical Dude 11-18-2006 02:14 PM

I'm sure someone will record it, for those that miss it or have no access to watch the parade anywhere. Lauren mentioned on her Galaxy Girls blog that she would be viewing the parade in New York City, so she gets to see it up close. :)

bloonuggets 11-18-2006 10:30 PM

And when they get to Macy*s, they're going to be "singing" "With a Little Help from My (Imaginary) Friends."
