Eduardo-Cancer, Autism, or Paranoia?

I'm kinda concerned about the following lines from "Eddie Monster":

Mac: Maybe we should just go inside, and do something.
Wilt: Yeah! We can go inside and bake potatoes. You like potatoes.
Eduardo: (Hyperventilating) But I could choke.
Mac: We could read a book.
Eduardo: Paper cuts.
Coco: Co-co-co-co-co?
Wilt: Yeah, can we stand? Is standing all right?
Eduardo: (Scratches own head) What about your feet?
Everyone: (Wilt, Mac, and Coco leave) Oh, Eduardo!
Eduardo: Your feet! Your feet is gonna get tired! Beware of the tired feet!

Does these lines mean that Eduardo has cancer, autism, or paranoia? Vote and find out.

Invader Bloo 10-26-2006 06:25 PM

I doubt he has cancer.

Sparky 10-26-2006 06:26 PM

I don't understand. :terrconf: What do cancer *or* autism have to do with this quote?

Ed may know too much about what might happen when he does stuff. I would vote for Autism if the rest of the members would.:-/

Like...being psychic? :P *is still confused, sorry*

Cassini90125 10-26-2006 06:46 PM

I'm completely confused. :terrconf: ???

lucyrocks73 10-26-2006 06:48 PM

Ditto.

I think that Ed's just paranoid.

Sparky 10-26-2006 06:48 PM

Thank goodness, I thought it was just me. :P (Lol part of the reason I love dumb characters like Terrence so much is because I have these totally "dumb" moments myself so I figured I was havng one now.)

One Radical Dude 10-26-2006 06:52 PM

Where's the "none of the above" option? What do these quotes have to do with being someone that has cancer or autism? ???

kageri 10-26-2006 06:52 PM

Cancer is a physical thing, and autism isn't. Sooooo.... I don't really get it....

Sparky 10-26-2006 06:58 PM

I assumed he just suffered from a form of paranoia; or at least something else psychological. Cancer is, like kageri said, a physical affliction, and autism is an extremely broad range of inabilities of the brain to communicate properly with itself (hoping not to offend if that isn't quite correct).

Invader Bloo 10-26-2006 06:59 PM

Yeah, I agree Ed's just paranoid if when he eats one he may choke on it. I don't get how potatoes trigger cancer.

BlooCheese 10-26-2006 07:19 PM

Cancer? Autism?
Huh?
I'm sorry, but I am confused.

Cancer is a malignant tumor that tends to invade healthy tissue and spread to new sites.

Autism is abnormal subjectivity; a form of childhood schizophrenia characterized by acting out and withdrawal.

Being afraid and overly cautious has little or no relevance to cancer or autism. I agree with the others. Ed is paranoid.

Voxxyn 10-26-2006 08:02 PM

I'm part of the Autistic spectrum(I have Asperger's), and I don't get that poll at all.

I always thought Eduardo was simply somebody with the mind and heart of a child.

Cassini90125 10-26-2006 08:05 PM

That's what I've always thought.

Autism is lined to mirror neurons which allow primates to emphathise with others as well as imitate them. ANd some other stuff too.

Eduaro is just paranoid. he dosn' have freaky stuff going on.

A fellow Scientific American reader, I presume? :)

HappyFoppy 10-28-2006 07:51 AM

Lol, big words.

I think he's kinda paranoid, not cancer or autism... Autism is kinda different. I can know, I know some people with Autism. As of cancer... I have no idea how you come up with that. I don't think cancer has anything to do with autism or Eduardo himself. LDE: We're really not flaming you or something... Really don't mind this as being mean, OK? It's just kinda weird of thinking that. A 'Paranoid' option should be added, maybe?

Well, as of right now I can't add a Paranoid option. I tried to find an edit poll option when editing the first post, but I can't. Maybe a moderator should help.

pitbulllady 10-28-2006 08:50 AM

WTF? I am a very intelligent, educated person, and I totally do NOT get this at all! What does cancer or autism have to do with Ed's behavior? He's just paranoid, since he's scared of so many things. Ed always tends to think of the "worst case scenario", which is something many little children do to try to make an argument in support of their childhood fears. Eduardo thinks like a four-year-old, and if you have ever tried to reason with a four-year-old about something like say...a monster in the closet, you would know what I mean. A lot of old people get like this, too; my grandmother would always think of the most horrific things that could happen to me if I slipped up and told her that I was driving to a dog show or something four hours away. It's their way of getting others to go along with them and see things their way. Eduardo was embarrassed about being afraid of the "Whizbee", so he kept elaborating on things so that the others would hopefully see his point in the alleged dangers in mundane things. Nothing to do with autism or cancer at all.

I don't think only 4-year-olds do that. And then I don't mean Ed. Even I can do it know sometimes when I'm afraid of stuff (like I have fear of being alone *blush* yeah I can't help it) but thereafter I just think 'Nah, that couldn't happen.'. But still, I do agree with you. ;)

Oh yeah, that's impossible in Vbulletin. A mod should do it then.

Cassini90125 10-28-2006 11:06 AM

As requested, "Paranoia" has been added as an option. No charge. ;)

kaytea 10-28-2006 11:17 AM

he's just paranoid

Nyo 10-28-2006 11:34 AM

Paranoia.

Mr. Marshmallow 10-28-2006 04:25 PM

No offense but as much as I support people's creativity into importing different ideas and aspects of RL into this show to create conversations, but I think this one is just plain off kilter and it doesn't make a dam bit of sense to me.

Being freaky by nature doesn't mean cancer or that your autistic. Eduardo's paranoid (which is what he is) attitude is apart of his personality and no biological or genetical disorder can always explain why we act the way we are.

I also don't think imaginary friends get half the stuff we do like austim or cancer. Because if that's the case, where does it end? Parkinson's disease, shcitzophrenia, diabetes? I mean I think this is going into territory that has nothing to do with Foster's in general.

Also, I actually have a younger girl cousin who is severely autisic and she does NOTHING like what Eduardo is acting like.

CG 10-28-2006 04:35 PM

This thread disgusts me, and to be pretty frank I'm pretty angry at this. Autism? Cancer? What the heck is wrong with you? Eduardo has NEITHER. He's the image of innocence, NOT some disease which affects people world wide with (most times) devastating effects!

I watched my uncle, my cousin, and my mum's best friend die of cancer and none of them did anything like Eduardo. They remained smart, clever, everything.

I want this thread gone.

CCMars 10-28-2006 05:03 PM

Paranoia. I myself have a form of autism (Asperger's) and my mother had breast cancer. Eduardo has no symptoms along either of those lines.

Where the heck did you get the idea that Eduardo had cancer or autism? I have to wonder if you even know what either of those are...

Indeedio... I liked that article.

I agree that this is totally out of whack- but it dosn't need to be deleted.

Though, seriuosly, cancer?

LosDosEduardos 10-28-2006 06:16 PM

I doubt he has cancer as well. But you know what they say: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." I just realized just now, and knew that the Wikipedia article about Ed having cancer was just a hoax. I'm glad that it was edited out. I think now that he's paranoid.

lucyrocks73 10-28-2006 06:34 PM

Yeah.

NEVER BELIEVE A WORD ON WIKIPEDIA.

It took me a while to learn that...

-Marty :goo:

taranchula 10-28-2006 08:00 PM

What.... what...WHAT?!

Okay I know there is a lot of stupid stuff that is posted on Wikipedia, but this "Eduardo has cancer" thing doesn't just take the cake, it takes the entire freaking bake shop as well.

I hope no one minds, but I am just going to lock this topic.
