Starting a full-year TAFE course
Hey guys.
I just need to let you all know that starting on Wednesday, I'll be starting a full-year course on Multimedia. What that is is that it involves video editing (something I already know how, but I feel that I could improve on it), sound editing (again, something I already know that I can improve on), how to use Flash for 2D animation etc. So, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I'll be doing this course for a year, which means that Mondays and Tuesdays are fine, but the other days I'll try to catch up with you guys whenever I can. Besides, I wouldn't want to miss Cass' Frankie Valentine image for the world! |
Good luck with that, media courses can be a lot of hard work but very very rewarding at that same time. Especially when you see the finished product staring back at you.
|
Congrats on that FF! :D Hope it the next year holds some positive outcomes. I'm happy to see you're ok too, I'm hoping you're far away from those fires.

Cool, best of luck with that FF, I'm sure that you'll garner some useful new skills and experiences from this course. Good to hear that you're staying safe too - I do hope that things will improve in Victoria.

Well, it was a good start. Wednesday I get to learn how to use Flash for animation (which is not as hard as it looks), and the simple basics of Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing. Thursday I learned the basics of Photoshop (but I already knew that 8D). But Friday... I had to learn about what a CPU is, what devices plug into the PC... stuff that I learnt about in Year 10! :( My guess is that it's for students who didn't do Certificate II on IT, and if that's the case, then I can get Friday off too. But anyway, Wednesdays and Thursdays are bound to be fun days.
While I'm here, I might as well announce this too: On Saturday, I'm heading off to Sydney to visit a friend's place for a barbecue (no jokes about shrimps on the barbie, thank you! 8D), and then I'm staying for the night at my aunt and uncle's home. I might be able to use my aunt's computer to access the internet, so hopefully I'll be able to catch up with you guys then and see what Cass has got for Valentine's this year. |
MAJOR update! 8D
I've just started semester 2, but first, a bit on semester 1: We learned the basics of Adobe programs Premiere Pro and Encore, as well as tips and tricks for Photoshop. For our final assignment, we had to do a group task of doing a DVD promoting a fictional island called Wazza's Island (You can't get more Australian than that!! 8D). I did the video editing, filming (since I now have a video camera of my own!), DVD menu creating, and a bit of acting. The others did acting, Photoshop, and After Effects. The end result was good, and I passed. Now, for semester 2! This time, we're doing an individual film of our own for the final assignment. The main task is to do a documentary on a product of some sort, but I think the teacher said that we don't HAVE TO do a doco. If that's the case, then I've already got an idea for my film! We'll also be learning how to use Adobe programs After Effects and Soundbooth. I can't wait to get started on my film! |
That sounds like such an awesome class. They all do! Wish my college experience was that fun. :P Congrats Frankie Fan! I'm sure your movie will turn out great!
|
I'm dying to know what the movie plot is. ;D Many congrats, dude!

Well, I'm thinking of doing a Hot Fuzz-type film, but with Mel Brooks humour. It's still in its early stages. |
Update time!!
I'm almost ready to film. I've asked two people to star alongside me (and have said yes!), and I've just got to work out some location problems. Also, since I'm not actually allowed to use police uniforms in my film, I've changed the occupations from police cops to detectives. So, it'll be more like NCIS with Mel Brooks humour. Once I'm ready, I'll change my avatar to reflect on filming... once I find it! 8D EDIT - Never mind. I found it! 8D |
You realize, of course, that after the film is done we're going to pester you to upload it to YouTube. :bloocross:
Best of luck on the filming, dude!  |

That is so awesome, congrats Frankie Fan! I hope it all goes well, and once you film and edit it, I look forward to seeing it, too. |
At long last, I've finally started filming. I'm REALLY hoping to get it all done within a week or two, so that I can get it edited all together before the end of the month. Wish me luck!

Filming is complete! As you can tell by the text under my avatar, post-production is now underway. I'll shall let you guys know when it's done!
|
It's official! Wise Guy (yes, that's the title of my movie! 8D) is done! It'll be a while before I can upload the film (possibly in parts) onto YouTube, so you'll have to wait.
|
We'll be patient... for awhile... :blooevil:
Can't wait to see it. Congratulations on a successful production! |
Awesome! Can't wait to see it.:)
|
If the file's not too huge, it'd be fun to have a screening on my webchannel. ;D

I have some very unfortunate news...
Earlier today, I made the stupid mistake of deleting all of the videos that I had recorded. :cry2: Needless to say, I searched for recovery programs, and while it did recover many of the videos, some weren't so lucky. Which means that I will still upload the movie onto YouTube, but it means that I'll have to rip it off the DVD that I burned, and the quality may not be so great. :( It depends. We'll see what happens. |
At long last, the Never Forgotten premiere of Wise Guy!
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwrhAIUeLa4 Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX2v466HnaQ Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zot7U6oBtJE Enjoy! If you want to know the tunes I've used, they're in the end credits. |
I finally got around to watching this. Sorry about the wait. :P
The only complaint I have is that the background music occasionally made the dialogue hard to hear. Other than that, nicely done, dude, very nice indeed! Good pacing and storyline, and the humorous touches were a great addition. The occasional special effects were well done as well. Excellent job! ;D   |
