Never Forgotten

Oh yeah...I have a website. ;D Technically you're already on it, and the link is at the bottom of every page of this forum, so just scroll down to get there. ;)

I'm working on a new site feature but of course with getting the new forum launched I haven't been able to progress much on it but I'll update everyone when there's news.

Other than that my site is mostly known for the screencap galleries; and if you're keen on screencaps be sure to join my newsletter, as I always send out immediate notification of new screencaps to my subscribers. There's also now an updates blog on my site, though I did make it hard for people to reply to my blogs on purpose to try and avoid spam replies. Sorry about that. But I don't really mean for the blog to be used like a guestbook and if I let just anyone reply in there that's what it would turn into; that and a bunch of screencap requests which are always better handled by email anyways.

The new clipart section is up!

http://www.fosters-home.com/clipart/index.htm

And that's only the beginning of them. Pretty soon you'll be seeing these on homemade eBay merchandise. ;)

The Bloo's the Boss screencaps are up:

http://www.fosters-home.com/screengrabs/4-09Boss.htm

I guess if you haven't seen the ep yet and don't want *any* sort of spoilers, screencaps included, don't visit the page until after you see the ep. :P

pitbulllady 10-16-2006 08:50 AM

OK, I HAVE to ask...and you can put it in a spoiler bar for those who do not want to know(and I'm so not one of those people)...WHY is Frankie grabbing ahold of Wilt? Not that I can BLAME her, you understand, but as Paul Harvey says, I want to "know the REST of the story"!

pitbulllady, who does not have Comcast, lives in an area where Comcast is not even available, and is at work until who-knows-how-late and can't even watch "Bloo's The Boss" online)

Spoiler Below
It was all part of Frankie's plan to rescue that one eyed cat imaginary friend, Catclops was hanging precariously on a tree limb over a raging river, and Eduardo, Wilt, Coco and Frankie were making a human ladder in order to reach him. Until Bloo wanted to get in on the rescue action and well you can guess what might have happened there.

pitbulllady 10-16-2006 03:44 PM

OK, thanks! I guess Frankie was sorta the "anchor" for the rescue chain, then, but wouldn't that mean Wilt has to hold up all the others, including Ed, who's pretty heavy? And is it just me, or does the Cyclops cat look a bit like Stimpy, from "Ren and Stimpy", but with only that one big eye?

OK, I wondered how he'd balance everyone else, especially with just one arm. I just assumed that he and Frankie were both standing on the ground, and she was holding onto him as he leaned forward so the others could rescue the uhm, "cat". I can't wait to see this episode, especially the scenes with Bloo and the REAL cat(I presume that's "Chuck", right?).

Cassini90125 10-16-2006 06:14 PM

Chuck is the real cat. Quite adorable, too, but then again I've always been fond of cats. :)

I'm surprised you didn't comment on the screencap of Bloo yanking Wilt's good eyestalk, pbl. That looked mighty painful. :wiltshock:

One Radical Dude 10-17-2006 12:13 PM

Ouch, how can the Wilt-Man deal with the eyestalk pulling? :wiltshock: Once again, thank you for the updates.

Yeah even I have to admit that made me wince just a little... :(

I am sorry that the Emancipation Complication screencaps are late, but as some of you know I recently got a new computer so my time has been taken with getting that set up, etc. I wanted to do the caps today but instead spent the whole day transferring my vital personal files to this computer via wireless networking, as I lack a cable. :jk: I'm still not done.

The good news is that I don't have to transfer all my eps, of the various cartoons that I tape(d), because they are all on removable harddrives. But still.

Sparky 11-18-2006 12:10 AM

Whew, they're up:

Emancipation Complication

My new computer's software was a lot tougher to figure out than the old one, but look at the difference in the quality! I hope people think the wait was worth it.

I missed recording Make Believe It Or Not tonight, but it looks like it will be on again Saturday afternoon. (I haven't even *seen* it myself yet, so I am staying out of the ep discussion thread and hopefully it hasn't been spoiled too badly elsewhere on the forum.)

Carlaz 11-18-2006 07:04 AM

*Applause* They do look good. Thanks, Sparky. :D

Kzinistzerg 11-18-2006 10:57 AM

Oooo! Nice!

Sparky, I forgot to comment on this wonderful site here. THIS was my gateway into the world of FHfIF. My complements!

Sparky 11-22-2006 01:18 PM

Thanks!

Blame pbl though, she made me do it. ;)

Sparky 11-26-2006 09:20 AM

I am going to be doing the GWH screencaps in batches to keep myself from going insane. :D The caps from the first segment is up:

GWH screencaps

Carlaz 11-26-2006 09:23 AM

WOOT! Thanks Sparky! :D

Sparky 11-27-2006 03:57 PM

Next installment of GWH caps are up.

For some reason the capture program "skipped" like three of the numbers in sequence, that's why it looks like there's a few missing. The caps with the appropriate numbers for those spots just never existed.

Sparky 11-29-2006 10:20 PM

Okay I'm uploading the rest of these now. There's a total of 269, and I've divided the gallery into 3 pages to keep people from having to load them all if they come back looking for a specific one, etc.

I tried to get lots of action shots from the basketball game, but its hard to get stills of really "actiony" scenes because a lot of the time characters are distorted or blurred in order to give a "fast-moving" appearance, and sometimes those kinds of shots don't look good. I concentrated on action shots of Wilt and Larry, and wound up taking quite a few of Foul Larry committing fouls. Look for the one where he literally grabs Wilt's arm and yanks it back so he can take the ball from him.

Anyways, I tried to take lots of stills, and now its done. Maybe this means that tomorrow I'll actually be free to work on my Ant Bully fansite a bit, now that I'll have time to watch the DVD.

CG 11-30-2006 02:59 PM

Nice work Sparky.

Shame about the crawl on Wilt 'n Jordan's hug tho. :p

Sparky 11-30-2006 03:59 PM

Yup. I usually just pass up shots if there's a splash ad thingie in the way, but I couldn't pass that one up.

Ricky Fieldmouse 12-02-2006 12:01 PM

I swear I saw mp3's from BFAHP on the site last week, and now they're gone! What happened to them?

Sparky 12-02-2006 04:26 PM

I was having major bandwidth issues and I had to take them down. I plan to reupload them to another server, but haven't done it yet. (And they weren't from BFAHP, they were from that FostersFriends.com or whatever it was called game.)

Sparky 03-05-2007 09:35 PM

I have just uploaded screengrabs from 6 of the shorts:

Screengrab Page - Shorts

I actually do have two more of the shorts (All Zapped Up and Truth Or Stare) but I'll do them later. I'm missing all the rest.

Sparky 04-27-2007 11:50 AM

Sigh.

Well, I understood it when there was a giant tidal wave of hits on the site last November (because of Good Wilt Hunting); and I guess we can assume that this month's is due to the BFAHP secret codes. But this is about the fourth time that I have received a warning from my server that I will be going over my bandwidth quota for the month. It's not going to be by much this time, but still, you know. The forum and even the chatroom are a much larger drain on bandwidth than the screengrabs ever have been. For now what I've done is relocated all the images from the BFAHP section to my other site The Neitherworld, but I can't move any part of the forum or chatroom. (Well, I sorta could, such as the images, but it would be a pain to do it. And it wouldn't save much money in the long run if I divert too much bandwidth from The Neitherworld anyways.)

Therefore I am going to be setting up a donation system. What I'll probably do is get an account on Paypal just for NF, separate from my regular Paypal account there. There's a lot of ways to integrate a Paypal button onto a website and onto a vBulletin so I'll start looking into them. As for giving contributers their due, we can either agree that donations will be more or less anonymous, or I can give contributors special status of some sort on the forum. vBulletin does have tools built in for that sort of thing, maybe you've seen that on other vB forums. Sometimes its a one time donation and sometimes it's done through a paid subscription deal. Usually contributors would be the only ones allowed to have say, a custom avatar or something, but I don't want to take that away from the regular members. I could increase the PM box size I guess. Eh. I think for most people the payoff is a special image beneath their name that tells everyone how generous they are. Or maybe not use that system. I don't especially want people competing through money to look cool on the forum by having a special icon under their name saying that they donated. But, other forums do it. What do you guys think?

Oh - currently the site costs me $35 a month, but we'll have to move to the $45 package if we continue to use the same amount of bandwidth we've been using lately. And over time, we may have to move to the next package. We've already upgraded twice since changing to this server last August.

(And it wouldn't be very helpful to simply start suggesting cheaper servers for us to move to, so don't do that to me. Nor do I at this time want to look at like, dedicated servers...Maybe later though. As you can see it's not like I'm asking for hundreds of dollars a month or anything. Thanks.)

Cassini90125 04-27-2007 02:02 PM

I'll do what I can as soon as my system gets back from Best Buy, but that may not be until next week. They're a little slow. >:(

Sparky 05-01-2007 07:45 PM

Well I had created a Paypal account separate from my main one, but I had trouble verifying my savings account (Paypal won't let you use the same bank account for two Paypal accounts, so I couldn't just use my checking account again). So I gave up and just added the email to my main Paypal account. It will do at least for now.

I have not yet decided on which Paypal modification to use on the forum (as there are a few out there and each has its features and drawbacks), but for now at least there is a donations button on my site.

Nobody HAS to donate, nor is there any sort of reward or recognition system in place for anyone who does donate (there may be in the future, it seems to depend on which vBulletin modification I go with, so if you want to wait for that go for it).

I hope this doesn't make anyone feel weird. :macwor: Nobody is required to donate anything, that's the bottom line.

The Buck Swaps Here screencaps

I got the feeling that some of the people who walked by in the background/foreground at the swap meet were significant references to people elsewhere, but I didn't take shots of each and every one. Anyone know who the two people carrying the hot-dog shaped couch were supposed to be? The biker-looking dude carrying the armload of car/motorcycle parts? Also I realised (this was probably mentioned before) that the pickpocket guy was entirely mute; he didn't utter a sound even when in pain. I like silent characters, I think they're cool.

I too liked how he said nothing, like the classic era bad guys in the black and white shirts like he ultimately ended up.

Sparky 06-15-2007 03:19 PM

I guess I'll put this here...

Well folks, the bandwidth usage on this site is seriously beating me down. A while back I migrated all the images from the BFAHP section over to my other site theneitherworld to alleviate some of the bandwidth usage, but now theneitherworld is suffering for it. I can't afford the projected overage fees my server quoted me, so I have removed all images from the BFAHP section save the maps, secret codes, and the basic images. I took down the chores, the characters, and the minigames images. When I get the time I'll go back and just describe stuff in text, but I'm hoping that taking down the images will help. I also removed the Sims 2 packages I had up for download (which were also hosted at theneitherworld) because they were hurting me too.

If this doesn't help I will have to cough up more per month. Oh well.

Sparky 06-18-2007 07:32 PM

First of all, the bandwidth issue with the BFAHP site has been solved: the images were the whole problem. So they're gone, and not coming back. All that gets to stay are the maps. And...that's basically it.

Secondly, screencaps yay finally.

It's getting time to renew our yearly vBulletin license, so I can keep downloading and installing the most up-to-date software. It costs $30. If anyone's been thinking of donating, now would be a good time. Thank you.
