Mac and Bloo in PPG special

Our shaggy-haired little hero Mac and Bloo appeared very briefly in a crowd scene in The Powerpuff Girls Rule, Craig's special PPG episode to commemorate the show's 10th anniversary. Visual proof:

Haha, cool.

Is that Bloo to the other side of the kid with the "Mitch Rocks" shirt? :bloobleh:

Ccook50 01-20-2009 02:20 PM

Sure is. Good catch--I missed that! Subject and message rewritten to reflect that.

Mac-a-lacka 01-20-2009 02:43 PM

Awesome. :)

Subzeroace 01-20-2009 03:39 PM

I haven't seen the episode (Since I'm in Canada, I'll have to buy the series box set ;)) but I've been told Frankie makes an appearance as well as Craig and Lauren themselves :D

Cassini90125 01-20-2009 03:52 PM

Anyone know when it's being rerun? Sounds like something I'd like to record.

Ccook50 01-20-2009 04:11 PM

No word on when it will be replayed; that'll be based on how the ratings were on the special.
And yes, Frankie, Craig and Lauren do appear.

Here's Frankie (on the bottom, just below the elephant) in Blossom's dystopic vision of the world under her control:

In a continuation of Blossom's pipe dream, Craig is on second to the right:

And towards the end as Mojo Jojo goes on the attack, here's Craig and Lauren:

Great pics, thanks!

Frankie's hoodie seems to have become pink. 8D

I love how Craig puts himself in his works; reminds of how Alfred Hitchcock used to do. Very classic!

Is it me or do Mac and Bloo look...photoshopped in their first picture? O_o They look really out of place to me - probably because they don't have the thick PPG outlines

But Frankie in the first Blossom picture does have the outline - maybe they forgot to give Mac and Bloo one? I dunno

Nice shots though

Ccook50 01-20-2009 04:33 PM

Frankie's hoodie is pink because Blossom's vision is in shades of red and pink. (In that screenshot, I believe the girl who is at the front on the right is Lauren.) The second photo, which continues Blossom's vision, is in similar shades.

I'd be willing to bet Mac and Bloo were Photoshopped into the scene. Apart from Mitch (who's a wiseacre anyway), their poses and facial expressions don't jive with the other kids. Still a funny cameo. Frankie was animated specifically for that scene she was in.

I'm so mad at myself. I had every intention of watching the special, and was watching PPG for most of the evening. But at 6 I turned the channel to watch the news, and meant to turn it back when the half hour broadcast was over. But I then felt to be in my every-day routine, and completely forgot about it. I'm hoping there's a re-run too, this time I'll Tivo it.

I enjoy the show but I'm not that familiar with the episodes, so I don't know which episode this was, but the one where Mojo pretends to be a girl and joins the girls' school, and "s"he becomes popular, they are all looking at magazines with cute boys, and I notice Craig was one of the pictures. Totally cracked me up. 8D

Ccook50 01-21-2009 02:54 AM

That episode was Slumbering With The Enemy. And it was the girls' slumber party that Mojo infiltrated.

Keij 01-21-2009 07:55 PM

Immediately to the left of Frankie is Khaki Jones, as well. :)

HerrimanWasHere 01-21-2009 09:39 PM

I didn't notice Khones! *goes back to rewatch it*

My fav was seeing Craig cleaning. He looked so sad and miserable. 8D

I just saw the episode and Mac and Bloo were in that scene, unless I'm mistaken. So I guess it's legit after all :P.

I know this is old but I have just found this- I love the look on Mac's face- so happy and innocent- yet completely out of place with the rest of the scene!

Adorable!:)

What does "shaggy" mean by the way?

Ccook50 10-21-2009 05:45 AM

"Shaggy" means unkemptly hairy, like Scooby-Doo's Norville "Shaggy" Rogers.

Another Castle 10-21-2009 08:07 AM

Oh yes.
I can imagine Mac's disorderly/untidy hair would be such a petty thing old-fashioned Mr. Herriman would be annoyed by- I remember he orders him to get it cut in one episode

Yes, in "Let Your Harry Down" I think it was called...8D

One more thing about Mac's hair-do we ever see his ears behind it?

Only in the episode Bye Bye Nerdy I think.

Lynnie 10-26-2009 08:56 PM

Nice catch, Macky! I was racking my brain for a while trying to thin if we've ever seen his ears and I couldn't think of any either. :)

Another Castle 11-05-2009 08:49 AM

Just to get back on topic a bit- how well was this special received?

I've only seen the trailer, obviously it is done in Flash, but it seems faster, and a bit more hyper

Mew 11-05-2009 10:14 AM

Eh.. I managed to download it (because god knows that Cartoon Network won't show it until the 20th anniversary, although they've been pretty good at bringing stuff over recenly), and I didn't like it :x It was just too random. Too much running around for me :B.

Ccook50 11-05-2009 01:53 PM

It's on the DVD set as well. And yes, its inherent sugar-rush pacing made it rather underwhelming.

Another Castle 12-13-2009 08:46 AM

I hope you have forgiven me for driving wildly off-topic earlier!

I see CMcC has put himself in one of the scenes for this special. I have read elsewhere that he has cameos in the PPG movie, and in the episode Criss Cross Crisis. I have just watched that one yesterday (probably the the one, after Meet the Beat-Alls), but I didn't spot him.

Lynnie 07-02-2010 11:20 PM

I can't think of a more appropriate place to post this, so here it is- a whole bunch of cartoon, video game and comic characters PPG-ized! I love this picture too much! :bubbles:

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a..._Lyn/PPG-1.jpg

See Blooregard, Mac, and Frankie? :) And many others too. It's fun trying to recognize them all.

Cassini90125 07-02-2010 11:24 PM

Frankie: third full row, farthest on the right.

Dang I'm good. 8-)

Howard 07-02-2010 11:40 PM

This pic is cute! Great find Lynnie!:blossom::bubbles::buttercup:

antgirl1 07-03-2010 05:51 PM

Bloo actually looks cute PPG-ized.

Another Castle 07-04-2010 03:36 AM

Very good! It is all PPG characters at the top, but I can see all sorts of faces. Some of them look a little odd, but others match perfectly! Where did you find it? I wonder what Craig would think of it

[quote=Lynnie;121345]I can't think of a more appropriate place to post this [quote]

I made a PPG thread in the "Other Entertainment" section

Argh! All I see is an X!

Ccook50 09-12-2010 06:23 AM

That's because I had the pictures up on the now-defunct free GeoCities board.

Well find a new picture.

Lynnie 09-17-2010 08:05 PM

I beg your pardon, but isn't that a bit bossy, especially when directed towards someone who's been on the boards a long time?

If the pictures are still circulating around the web, and I'm sure they are, I think you can find them just as easily yourself. ;)

KazooBloo 12-06-2016 10:06 PM

Yeah, I saw that too. :)
